Stay away if you have high energy dogs. From the beginning I disclosed that my beagle/husky mix was high energy. Despite that we did the trial day and we were told that she passed and was allowed in group play.
Fast forward to now and my dog is now banned from daycare. Iâve been always honest with my dogs situation and was told they would give her breaks and would try to work with her.
Yesterday, when speaking to Amy (the manager) she claims my dog was aggressive to another dog. My dog did not draw blood or hurt the other dog. It seems that the story keeps changing from what Amy disclosed to my partner vs what she told me. They also donât have cameras anymore so you canât see what happened just take their word.
Since they took away the cameras my dog has also changed in behavior. The lack of them may be to hide their aversive techniques as my dog who is always sweet is now super anxious and sad since going there consistently for a week.
When I asked if my dog would ever be allowed back in daycare Amy replied no and claims that my dog âwas always one to watch and she canât control herâ. She also claims my dog was only on the floor for two hours, but told my partner that she had only been on break twice and was on the floor in group play all day.
The differing stories, the fact that the manager herself claims she cannot control my dog when my dog has never been aggressive and has been to other facilities does not inspire confidence that the situation they described even happened. Seems like they allow your dog, but if your dog is high energy they will find any reason to kick them out and ultimately tell you they cannot âcontrolâ them.
Stay away from this facility unless you have a low energy, submissive dog that is more...
Read moreI do not recommend any professional establishment which does not respect or take seriously their duty to disclose any âphysical techniquesâ they impose on the animals in their care. I was informed about their physical practices by the owner Amy after an incident in which a handler clearly mishandled my animal by grabbing his neck and pinning him down to attempt an âalpha rollâ. This is far from the rattle paddles, spray bottles and being removed for breaks I was told would be used by Stay. It was made clear by the recordings that the handler was creating a dangerous environment for the animals. There is no debate to be had about whether or not it was a justified action because it was not. I never consented to allow a hardly qualified dog day care to physically âredirectâ my animal outside of absolute necessity. To put salt in the wound, the handler failed to remove my dog from the group play after physically pinning him; as if nothing ever happened. They failed in every way to inform their clients and keep their handlers and dogs safe. I have posted the footage of the incident from September 3rd on my Facebook profile publicly, along with a detailed explanation of the encounter. I urge Stay to immediately make all of their clients aware of physical measures they allow their handlers to take. I can assure you, they are unnecessary and in poor taste. It also displays a blatant lack of training/understanding of canine group play and animal behavior by this establishment. I do not trust nor have any respect for the owner, Amy, whom displays such gross...
   Read moreNegligence. Serious Injury.
My dog was injured during an extended week long stay and we were not notified at all. Not even when my dog was walking out of the lobby on 3-legs.
The injury resulted in a nasty paw wound which required surgery.
(I would assume he was viciously bitten or injured due to a stray nail or sharp edge due to the ongoing construction at the time â irrelevant.)
The staff provided several different stories before the owner attempted some damage control to CYA. None of their stories lined up â which led me to believe this isnât an honest business with a competent manager nor workforce.
The owner originally referred me to the policy in which they are not liable.
I then brought up negligence of proper care for my injured pet while at Stay â seemed to change her tone to quite defensive and rude.
She offered me half of my vet bill (which was half the cost of our daycare). I declined and requested full payment as they acted negligently to care for my injured dog while under their care.
She agreed to cover the entire medical bill within 60 days. On Day 60, I reached out to her that I had not received payment and would pursue further action. She agreed to follow through on the settlement a few days later.
We were âbannedâ from their services for having âToo high of Standardsâ as a result of our pet getting injured and expecting the Stay Team to make a reasonable effort to pursue medical care for an injury which occurred under Stay supervision.
I would not recommend this business if you value the health and safety...
