I recently visited gypsy bean with my boyfriend to get coffee and snacks I love the food there in the coffee is exceptional as well there was three girls working there two of the girls seemed friendly and helpful but the third girl seemed disgusted or annoyed at my presence completely ignoring me but serving my boyfriend very politely. So she refused to take my order I waited up to 15 minutes at the counter we were the only customers. when another more friendly worker finally took my order and apologized for ignoring me. The rude girl with brown hair and glasses proceed to take 15 more minute to heat up a slice of pizza we ordered. We got to the car and realized she had given us the complete wrong order of egg quiche. My boyfriend was upset and said let’s just leave but I figured they would fix the mistake. I came back with the untouched unopened incorrect food. And the friendly blonde employee profusely apologized and had the discontent employee make us the correct order 1 piece of pizza. I watched the cranky employee microwave the pizza which I work in the food industry where microwaving stuff is common so I don’t understand why heating up a piece of pizza would make her so angry . It almost seemed purposeful she gave us the wrong food . Then she proceed to say “ now im getting angry I’m taking my break” while she microwaved the pizza for what I’m assuming a quick 30 seconds. It was so rude me and my boyfriend felt so much negative energy from this girl. I understand Everyone has bad days but she really made a point to show everyone . It made me feel like I Was an inconvenience or ruining her day by ordering anything at all. Just another paying customer who always tips even in this situation . Next time we go we will make sure she is not there if we even end up going again. Very uncomfortable disappointing experience it makes me sad to be treated so rudely at my favorite coffee spot in Cleveland. I do want to thank the blonde girl who helped correct the order and was super friendly and helped cut the tension the rude employee was spreading. If it wasn’t for her I don’t feel like we would have been...
Read moreMy new favorite cafe to visit in Cleveland. The decor style is more minimalistic, displaying antique coffee grinders along the shelves and paintings along the walls. This is perfect for those of us with shorter attention spans who really need to focus on their work. The music is eclectic and tasteful. I really recommend you try a salad here, it's very fresh, not overly dressed, great pricing to portion ratio and just all around delicious! I personally had the power salad and I absolutely loved it! It was fresh, perfectly balanced in flavor, and something that keeps a person coming back. The berry bliss iced tea I had was also perfect for a summertime pick me up. The idea for the passport latte's from around the world was really fun and it definitely spoke to me as a person who travels all over and loves every minute of it! So overall, I'm going to be here a lot before I leave Cleveland so please take my money.
Update! I've since had the opportunity to try another salad here. I tried the Greek Chop Salad this time and it was just as good as the Power Salad which leads me to believe all the salads are bomb here. I was informed that all of their dressings are made in house, no wonder it's amazing! You'd be an absolute fool not to order a...
Read moreA great small cafe to pick up that super customized delicious coffee and a delectable sweet treat to get you day started. Great for quick stops or stay in store and enjoy the vibe while you write that paper or chat with friends.
Full details: This is a really awesome gem of a cafe with super delicious coffees and amazing quality pastries at good prices. The vibe is pretty chill and you can definitely relax and have an awesome convo with friends or family with relaxing music in the background.
Or better, just relax in a corner and focus on that project or paper you need to write, altho if you want absolute quiet you will need to bring headphones or be really good at blocking out the hustle in the background.
Staff are amazing and friendly. The parking is obviously going to be tough given the location, but with a little 5 min walk you will be fine. The atmosphere is pretty nice, but to be honest I'd like it a little brighter or more upbeat interior vibe. However if you're going for a nice "gypsy mix" of colors and decor, this is definitely a winner.
All in all, I'd recommend a visit for the coffees and pastries at the very least, will not dissapoint and the menu variety will probably have you returning...
