I originally had a very poor experience here. But, I got on the wrong bus and decided to give this place another chance. At first, I was a little skeptical, as the employee was taking a break and had to close the store. It wasn't a super long wait, so I decided to come in when the sign said she'd be back.
I'm sure glad I came back! Everything was much improved from my last experience. Originally, I found that the employee had their kid running around the store, and now he was in a back room. As someone with pretty bad anxiety, not having an unpredictable kid running around the selling floor while I was trying to look at plants was just so much better.
The prices, for a boutique store in Cleveland, were so much more reasonable. A bit higher than what you'd find in a larger operation, but it's a boutique in Cleveland. There were a few plants that I would say were even underpriced, like a variegated Haworthia for the same price as their other succulents, and a really nice sized Monstera adansonii for under $30.
The selection was much better than what I originally saw. Originally, I found the usual Instagram like- bait plants- succulents, Calatheas, pothos, Philodendrons, Pilea peperomioides, and very little else. Today, the selection was so much better- many more plants that were not typical like- and- keep- scrolling houseplants. The selection was maybe slightly more weighted towards succulents, but the employee there said they were getting a shipment in tomorrow, so maybe I just came when a their other plants had sold off. Personally, I would have liked to see some Begonias, palms, and Gesneriads, but those are just my personal favorites and I still managed to find two wonderful plants there. Last time I was struggling to find one.
The plants were in the process of labeling when I was shopping, the employee was diligently searching the internet and a book for the names of the plants, and marking down care instructions on a label. Care instructions, for what was labeled, were accurate as far as I saw. Generally, the labels had a common name, light requirements and watering. If you wanted to dig further, the common name was unambiguous enough to get the Latin name eventually.
The only thing I could really say was wrong was the lack of gardening supplies like pots, soil, fertilizer, and tools like puners, trowels, and moisture meters, but maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough.
I'll definitely be back soon! I was very, very pleased! Here's hoping my new plants like me as much as...

They sell many plants that are a great fit to be grown in our Ohio indoor climates. The plants here are very MATURE, well cared for and healthy.
The prices are AMAZING for what you get and they have all different price points from small plants for $4 to large plants for $100.
Out of all the places I have been to locally to find good indoor plants I definitely think that this is the best for your array or choices and investment. I find Lowe's, Home Depot and Petti Garden Center to be very overpriced for what you get plus they are not healthy plants.
Stop shopping at under qualified plant centers and shop at a real indoor plant center.
Thank you Urban Planting! I am so excited about...

Stepping into this toasty oasis sure can take the days grey away. This shop is loaded wall to wall with lush happy and healthy plants. They have a trade cuttings spot by the door and cuttings as a option to take home. They have specialty mixed soils, all of the plant care things you might need, pest and mildew solutions. A very good selection of tropical plants and trees. A tiny beta fish tank in the back. Not so many cactus or succulents but one or two here or there in the mix.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. Stopped in for fun and of course had to get something ! The pricing is...
