Completely unplanned adventure out to cleveland had us blown away by @porcolounge and its incredibely friendly, knowledgable, and skilled staff! Pictures and video on their google page truly dont do this place or its drinks justice (as commented on by Merkayla herself). I found myself continually saying “This completely blew my expectations away!”
For context when approaching this place it does seem small, but only from the outside- once you get in your greeted by the tiki guarding this place and enter into a massive lounge area with private tiki huts and a tiki room sporting decor from every walk of americas tiki history- including little homages to the now defunct Kahiki supper club!
The size of this place was just right for a tiki bar in my opinion, though tall people be warned when you go to use the bathroom, the trade off of a massive main floor was definitely the low baring basement.
Atmosphere aside- the food and drinks: we had the pleasure of sitting at the bar and had the tone of the night set by our bartender Shawn and the rest of the bar crew. The drinks were phenomenal, as a sober skull im always weary when there are only a few options for non-alchoholic beverages but porcos had me covered by not only having quite a wide selection but also very prominently labeling them on their menu! My favourite of the night was a porcos staple: The Curse! Another i tried was of course their Mai-Tai which was lovely, i always try to sample a mai-tai everywhere we visit-but the curse was absolutely the stand out for me! In terms of food they have a great assortment of tacos and finger foods like tofu fries. The fries were good however i do wish they could have been a bit stiffer for dipping, but the chicken tacos specifically blew our collective minds with their addition of pineapple it sits just right in the palette 🙏🏻 excellent.
Overall our experience was terrific and both of us highly recommend hitting them up when youre in the cleveland area next! Theres so much more i could say but ill save it for when i visit next :D thankyou again to everyone at porcos, we cant wait...
Read more*Updated Review, second visit! Porco is one of those places that takes it's food and drink flavors seriously in an unserious and charasmatic environment. We tried the cheddar fries and wings first. The wings are an important part of this review so keep reading. We also had the shrimp tacos, Cheeseburger Sliders, and Steak Tacos. All of these have things on them anywhere else I probably wouldn't eat, but they have a magical way of pairing things that make even the pickiest eater overcome their personal tastes and be very glad they did. Masterful is a word that suits their food best.
Now for the wings. I have had wings all over the Cleveland area, it's something I try everywhere. They have 4 wings for $10. The wings they brought me looked like Baby Chicken wings and I say this with no exaggeration. Because everything was so good I didn't say anything because as usual the flavors of the crispy wings and amazing sauce made up for it. As I was eating my beef taco the chef came out and said, I am very sorry, the wings you received are not what we normally offer, he then showed me a photo comparison of what I received and what you would normally get and the size was literally double. He said a mistake had been made. I said I thought they were pretty small but didn't want to make a big deal of it. He then asked if he could please make me another batch. He soon came out with 4 more wings and his two favorite sauces, sauces by description I wouldn't like, but again after having them they convinced my taste buds otherwise. The fact that he came out and personally made it right even though I hadn't even mentioned it or complained about it goes to show the pride they take in their food. That gesture was impressive and earned them a customer for life. You don't find that kind of character in people these days and it made the experience there that much more special....
Read moreWe had Zach as our waiter. This was by far the worst service I've ever had. He was so so so rude. I came into town to visit some friends that live here, they recommended this place for us to have some drinks. He walked away mid order TWICE. Refused to listen to what we wanted/needed. I asked him about purchasing some glasses and he said "oh yea, not a problem I'll just put it on a separate tab" we had 6 people (auto gratuity added) at our table. When i asked him why I was paying 20% for him to bring me glasses from the front and if I could just pay for them myself at the front myself he said "I'd prefer you not" and when I asked if he could just take the gratuity off the cups he said "I'll just take the cups back and you can pay for them upfront". As we were leaving I stopped at the hostess to get the cups and as I was paying for them he went out of his way to run up to her and tell her "HE WAS IN A PARTY OF 6" and when I chimed back "that doesn't mean you get to add gratuity when I'm paying for swag at the front". He scoffed at me and said "yea it does". That's completely unacceptable. I paid 20% gratuity for our drinks automatically, that is completely unacceptable behavior. I'll never be back because of him. The hostess and the server nearby that tried to make it right, huge huge props to them. That's not their responsibility but they listened and did try and...
