UPDATE: In response to the vet. We never "called to cancel our dog's neutering procedure" as you wrote. Also, you don't know my finances, so how can you give me a price package that best fits?? Let me introduce myself. I am Oscar, Bownie's owner, who happens to be the guy that "slammed you on Google" according to the conversation you (the owner) had with my wife today 6/11/18. The comment you made to my wife just because I gave you an honest review. I told you on our first visit that I was not interested in having my dog neutered. I specifically asked you how much it would cost to have the two teeth pulled and no neutering. To be exact, you the owner, gave me a price of $364 to only pull his teeth. You even wrote on my estimate $364 by hand so as to know how much it would cost if we decided to have it done. I found the estimate today and I have it right in front of me, I can prove what I am saying. There was no package deal given or offered to only pull his teeth, as I clearly told you I was not interested in neutering my dog as soon as you mentioned neutering. You gave me a price solely for pulling his teeth. All I know is I clearly told you what I wanted and you gave me an estimate on paper. We call back to get the procedure done and you more than doubled the price. How do you expect me to react? Or even think for that matter?? What you wrote on paper is what you stick to. Then you accuse me of cancelling the neutering procedure when I never even agreed to it. Honesty is the best policy, remember that. You can try and justify yourself but you and I both know what took place. The estimate speaks for itself.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
On our first and last visit to the vet, we were given an estimate to have our dog's two teeth pulled out and have him neutered. The price was somewhere around $1,000. We told the vet immediately that we were not interested in having him neutered. We asked for the price of just having his two teeth pulled out. The vet said he would charge us around $300 for that alone. We call a few weeks later to set up an appointment to have his teeth pulled and the price jumped from $300 to $1,136! We asked why so much if we were quoted $300. The attendant said it was because we were not going to castrate him. What??!!!!! Does that even sound right? So the price more than tripled because we chose not to neuter our dog? We told her we had already been quoted a price of $300 if we decided not to neuter the dog. This was coming from the doctor's mouth as she had us on hold so she could discuss it with the doctor. This place is horrible. They do not stand by their word and they are excessive in prices. He's not a vet that has the best interest at heart for any animal. He seems very money hungry. A dentist visit to pull a tooth only costs $100 for each tooth. How do you explain $1,136??? No thank you! We will never return to this place. Too bad because he was local to where we live. We'll continue to see our vet...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my first time visiting this vet. They gave me a same day appointment and the person was nice talking on the phone. However, when I went there, I wasn't greeted nicely. The person saw me coming didn't even smile or greet. She was cold. I'm not sure is it because I'm a different race or what. But I don't like that kind of unwelcome feeling. I waited more than a hour with my doggie before I get into the room. After I got into the room, I waited another 15mins for some nurse to come.
They told me another doctor will see my dog because the doctor that suppose to see my dog is on an emergency surgery. I said that's fine. This doctor who saw my dog was up selling too much. I came in because my dog got itchy skin. He is selling other preventive stuff that's very expensive not even related. I don't want to walk out with a bill of $500. I declined most of the stuff he's trying to sell me. I just want to focus on the itchy skin issue not other stuff. But he kept focus on the shots past due. I will take care those later. He doesn't seem interested to look at my dog's issue. I have to show him what part is itchy and stuff. He should be the one asking questions and touching my dog and find out anything abnormal. He only touch my dog for a few and I have to tell him there are more parts that he's itchy. I got the feeling he doesn't want to take care this issue because is not a major issue that can make him a lot of money.
He's focus on the past due shots and expensive preventive stuff. I didn't even come to this vet for those things. Anyway, he used this ointment on my dog without even explain to me or ask me. He just put that on the bill. I told him my dog don't allow me to apply anything on his skin. This ointment is like $35. What a waste because I cannot use it on my dog. He prescribed some pills to prevent itchiness and guess what? this $12 pills are most effective. Not some $35 ointment which is useless.
They also have hidden fee like medical waste fee that didn't even mention. He didn't even explain or tell me what's wrong with the issue and what are the cause. What to look after. I have to be the one ask him questions. Most of his answers I can find it on the internet. The only thing I needed from them are those pills to prevent itchiness due to allergy.
I don't think this place is cheap or reasonable price. They charged $37.25 for Leptospirosis where my previous place only charge $17.25. Their 1st time office visit is free but they will up sell so your bill won't be cheap. I walked out with $160. Disappointing. I would never go...
