I recently joined a Free painting event at our local, Lorenzo Cultural Center, to Celebrate the Day of the Dead. The special "Paint Frida" workshop, guided by Paint the Town, invited you to explore Mexican Heritage while creating colorful Frida Kahlo-inspired art. Before, or after, the event you were able to walk around their main entrance area and view all of the incredible Day of the Dead photos and alters. The Lorenzo Cultural Center itself was rather easy to find, sharing a lot with the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts, meaning plenty of parking. Read moreThis was where the annual Comedy and Cocktails fundraising event took place for Macomb Community College's Foundation. What a great venue for having the fundraiser. The food was excellent, which helped to showcase the culinary department, but most of all, the event was designed to raise funds for art programs at the college.
