Dined in at Andiamo Pasta and Chops last Saturday for my reservation for 4 people at 7:45.
My parents arrived about 15 minutes early at 7:30, they thought they'd go to the bar for a cocktail while waiting for my husband and I. The bar was completely full but the manager approached them and actually got them a table for us right next to the bar while they waited for us to arrive. My dad was happy as he is handicap and typically uses a scooter. He said how kind and respectful the manager was.
My husband and I arrived at about 7:50pm where we noticed they had valet parking. We found a super close spot so we didn't use it but if I remember correct Brio use to offer free valet. Upon walking in I did notice they had an outside eating area for about 40 people. The resturant was clean, sophisticated and newly renovated since being the former Brio. Everything was clean and had a rustic modern Italian feel! We were greeted by 2 beautiful hostesses and seated to join our family!
We ordered a couple cocktails🍸, they were delicious. As for the food, 5 🌟! We started with the classic calamari which was lightly fried and served with lemon and a marinara sauce. We also had the artichoke appetizer which you guys is a must try! Classicly served as a whole half charred artichoke with a feta, tomato, pinenut, olive oil mix on top of it. It was so delicious and I loved eating the artichoke pieces whole. I would come back for this appetizer alone. We ordered the stuffed shrimp, gnocchi pasta with a side Italian sausage, chicken parmesan and white spinach bacon pasta (not real name but it was a white cream sauce). Everyone throughly enjoyed their entree which came with a choice of soup or side salad. My father enjoys seafood over cooked/well cooked he did ask the server to have the chefs refire it to cook it more, they actually remade the whole entree for him and the server had comped his meal from the bill. Our servers name was Kevin, this man was a phenomenal server. He asked us if we needed anything at least 15 times, stayed on top of refills, was very kind. They ended up bringing my fathers dish but we took it home. My father mentioned we were there in celebration of my birthday to which Kevin asked me to choose a dessert from the menu and they ended up surprising me with a big cannoli which he mentioned was also comped.
We ended the night with laughs and had so much fun together. This resturant did a great job and I look forward to it staying with this high quality. The menu was beautifully designed and the chefs delivered superior quality appetizers, entrees and desserts. The bar is beautiful and the bar tenders made great cocktails. I forsee great things for this...
Read moreHonestly the WORST restaurant experience i have ever had and not just saying that. DO NOT HAVE ANY TYPE OF LARGE PARTY HERE!!!!!! I had a party of 10 for my 21st birthday. We were getting dinner an hour and a half before my party. Our waiter made us 2 hours late to my party. First of all, the hostesses were rude. I got there at 6:00 for my reservation and we didn’t sit down until 6:20. Then, the waiter is not only extremely slow he gets my boyfriends order completely wrong, tries to tell him no he didn’t order that when we ALL heard him say it, then proceeds to give him the plate my other friend ate off already and insist it’s his. Mind you we were still fine and kind and whatever didn’t care too much. Then as we’re waiting longer and longer for our check, i told him can we just box up the dessert because he had mentioned we get a dessert since we’re celebrating my birthday. He says for sure. Dude comes back with the plate and the candle and the whole ordeal just ignoring what i said and no he didn’t offer to box it up after or give us a box. Next, in the begining of our meal he told us they can only split the bill 4 ways which was fine since we had couples. Then at the end of the meal (after 30 minutes of waiting for the check after finishing our food) he goes oh we can only do one check. Dude. We’re 20 year olds. No one just has 500 dollars to run on their card. Some of us were paying cash, ect. So we had to get the manager who was EXTREMELY rude and said fine I’ll split it for you this one time. Dude splits the bill completely wrong, people’s food with the wrong people, then has the NERVE to charge a25% gratuity! For horrible service! Mind you we ALWAYS tip good because almost all of us are servers/ nurses. But for the worst restaurant experience of my life??? Literally ruined most of my birthday because i was late to my party and people were waiting on me. It’s not only that it was HORRIBLE service but the fact we had to pay gratuity for horrible service. Never come here if you want to leave happy with a...
Read moreSo I used to work at Andiamo in Bloomfield Hills 20 years ago so I know what to look for and how things should be when it comes to service. Our server was a nice young guy. He must have been a newly trained server or something because he wasn't doing the things I know Andiamo servers would do He didn't ask if I wanted fresh cracked black pepper for my salad so I had to ask for that. I ordered a side pasta with palamina sauce as well and he asked if I wanted pepper with that. What he should have asked is if we wanted parmesan but he didnt. No big deal, I like the pasta without it. I finished my old fashioned and he asked if I was all set with my glass which I was. But he didn't ask if I wanted another. I had to tell him i wanted another drink when he came back. He was kinda slow too but whatever, the kid was trying so I didn't short his tip. I'm also guessing the guy at the hostess stand that greeted us was the manager that night. He also stopped at other people's tables to see how their food was but never stopped to ask us how we were. The actual food was good and the steaks were cooked to the proper temperature. The server never asked what temperature we wanted our steaks cooked. I made sure to tell him when he was repeating our order back to us. We ordered a cassata cake and some other dessert to go. Now the dessert was awful. They both tasted like they've just been sitting in the fridge for the longest time. It had that kind of taste. I still ate it because i didn't to waste it. It wasnt awful to the point where I'd send it back. But, I'm sure someone else would if they tasted it. The cake also wasn't that cold which made me wonder what temperature the cooler is at. Would I eat here again??? Maybe. If they brought back the chicken valdostana back on the menu, which I believe no longer exists on any Andiamo menu now. For now, no need to go back there. Maybe a different location if I want...
