The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center — Attraction in Clinton

This store used to be really great but has steadily gone downhill the last few years. I used to shop here at least once a week and always found tons of stuff. A few years ago the prices started rising, the inventory was lacking and employees were less and less friendly. Now the employees are outright rude and act annoyed that customers are even there. The store is always a mess and very unorganized, employees just sit in chairs on their phones, or in the back loudly talking about items they are taking home and filling totes with stuff in plain view of customers. On numerous occasions I've seen employees loading totes, bags or boxes full of items into their cars. Shopping here used to be one of the highlights of my week, now I have to talk myself into going and most of the time I leave empty handed and feeling really disheartened that this store has been run into the ground. Book prices are in general very reasonable. However I have checked the prices of certain items and found that the item is priced close to what it would be if I were to buy it new and the item is clearly used. I definitely stear clear of those items. One day I was looking through the coats and they were charging $15.00 for a coat that looked like it was made when I was a young child. Was it one of a kind? The male cashier a few days ago refused to reach 6-8 inches and scoot the books i had laid by the register over so he could see the prices on the books and had me do it. I hope he had some invisible illness/condition that was behind his unwillingness to help me as I am obviously physically disabled with Cerebral Palsy.Other local store workers have been willing to make reasonsble accomodations for me such as...

Changing rooms are OPEN! 👏 Some items are priced a tad high but most are not. Always good finds here! Last night I bought a cute pair of jeans for $8. I checked the zipper lock & it worked well keeping the zipper up-top as it should. However, I didn't see a couple patches on some serious thigh burnouts until I got them home after purchase. Disappointed that someone would even have donated them. They're garbage. I'll make sure to look things over more thoroughly in the future. Items are not returnable.
