Absolute garbage! It smelt horrible in the room, you couldn't plug in the microwave or coffee maker Also anybody that stays there please double check your cards because they double charged me instead of refunding me back my money so they charged me $224 for one room with a king size bed and I found a different place to stay at and the lady was supposed to remind me and it said she debited my account and I called my bank to make sure that it was being refunded and I put it on speaker and they said no she did not refund it she debited my account and then she got all right in the face and she's like no I didn't it's reimbursed back it's right on my screen I said no you give it to my account so my bank had to go through a whole big thing and make sure that I was reimbursed back so these guys are junk they're trash do not stay there I came there for my aunt passing away from cervical cancer and they caused me nothing but problems after problems they give you two tiny little pillows and the pillows were stained yellow the toilet was nasty there was hair all over the floor like it was absolutely broke if I could give it a zero star I would and I went and stayed at the super 8 hotel and I tell you what it was the absolutely most beautiful room I've ever stated this place needs to be shut down or ocean needs to go through and verify that their carpets are clean that their rooms are sufficient enough and even their TVs are so old you can't even watch like Netflix or Amazon prime or anything you have like five or six channels you can watch seriously stay away from this place and then the windows you can't even like shut and lock them because they're broke and anybody could break into your room and then when we were sleeping there was a guy and a chick standing outside of our room most of the night like listening to see what we're doing when I had four kids and my husband and myself and then all the sudden my husband looks through the people and was like what the heck and this was at like 2:00 in the morning and then it was happening at 3:00 and then at 4:00 and then at 5:00 and then at 6:00 then 7:00 instead of seeing if we wanted to stay another night they booked the room for somebody else and it was literally just an absolute disaster but they were standing outside of her room listening and then all of a sudden the vacuum started running like why are you running the vacuum and the middle of the night when people should be sleeping seriously stay...
Read moreThe hotel is clean, very upscale in decor but short in management from my experience. Also, the "directions" given on the confirmation are not clear. It led to a 45 minute drive up and down Rt. 30 and (often past the motel) because the signage is BAD. The name is on a short/somewhat hidden sign and the sprawling building and location is dwarfed by the Country Inn next door I'd ask places along the highway where it is and tine that no one really knew (though finally someone was able to tell me it was Next to the Country Inn and Suites and that's how I finally found it). The exterior is off-putting and the entrance unclear. It isn't inviting -- needs landscaping and flora and inviting signage on the building -- possibly adding color to the white sprawl that looks like a farm building -- an oversized chicken coop comes to mind. Directions should give nearby landmarks, cross streets on either side, caution on how far removed it is from Mississippi bridges (miles/time) to guide. Inside, with no one at desk, I had to call "Hello?" three times (she was making up a room and the only one around at 6PM). Inside, one feels as though one is wandering around via tunnels; again, with slick modern furniture, the areas need softening by 'welcoming' 'breaks' -- flora? art? -- things that can say "this is a welcoming, comfortable place". Get some exterior AND interior advice/expertise. I can see why people other than Choice fans (such as me) would pass this up quickly for the hotel next door or down the street (even 'finding it' given the poor directions on the confirmation or failing to find neighbors who can point it out). The building does not say "Friendly" in both its exterior and then the interior sprawl. It says: "don't stay here" and that is unfortunate because giving the space more warmth and making the outside more invitational (plus signage that says "here we are") could increase business beyond those of us with Choice Privileges I.D. If there is more sensitive 'take' on the product I might stay there again and surely would move that #2 up the scale. But right now, Quality isn't doing itself any favors in "presentation" nor helping to "locate" the property. Nor in trying to make the interior common areas feel less "cavernous/haunting/cold". Read morePoor quality. Needs serious maintenance and deep cleaning. Room was surface cleaned satisfactorily, but dirt in corners, along baseboards, etc. Lots of stains everywhere. Tub was slippery and nothing to hold on to, almost fell twice. Shower pressure and temp were nice. No complaints there. Toilet was difficult to flush and you had to hold the handle down until the bowl was almost empty. Checked for bedbugs, didn't see any concerns. Though the mattress showed signs of wear and tear, it was still very comfortable. Bedding was fine. Lots of things broken or not working properly in the room, though. Windows had serious large cracks in it. I had to call for maintenance three separate times (I felt like a "Karen," I'm truly not.) I think it was the owner who was doing the maintenance, he adequately addressed the problems, but seemed irritated at having to do so. (Maybe just having a bad couple of days, sure he's definitely overworked keeping up with this place.) The only available working outlets were under the desk, not reachable unless you basically crawled under it. I bought an extension cord and took care of that situation. The wall sconce had an outlet, but it was too loose to hold a plug. Room had an iron and safe, which I didn't use. No hairdryer, I had to go buy one. But it wasn't listed in the amenities so that was my fault for assuming. Nice to have a microwave and fridge, but fridge was sitting directly on the carpet and the door was difficult to open because it dragged on the carpet. Location was great, which is why I chose this hotel. Lots of shopping and some restaurants/fast food within walking distance. I never felt unsafe, even outside. There is no restaurant at the hotel as listed on the website, it is closed. Breakfast at hotel was free, but not worth walking down for after the first time. I hate giving such a poor review, I can overlook a lot, but this was too much all at once. I was told there are plans to do some renovation, which I hope happens. But although the decor could use updating, serious maintenance and scrubbing would make a world of difference here. Honestly, had I chosen a refundable rate, I would have moved. But i chose non-refundable. Unwise decision. In its current condition, I sadly cannot recommend this...
