So I bought a flashlight, 12,000 lumens it was rated for. I open it, charge it, put it on turbo mode and it just didn’t seem anywhere close. I have a 2100 lumen flashlight that actually is brighter than this nebo flashlight. That being said, I drove 35 minutes to buy the light. So I looked up ace return policy and the gist is if an item had been opened it can be returned within 90 days for store credit. This is day 2 and I wanted to return it, but called first to be sure I would t drive over an hour round trip to be turned down. I was just told that since it was $140, it would be the managers decision whether or not the return would be accepted. So I can’t just go return the severely over rated and therefore overpriced flashlight at my convenience. Point is, I like to shop at places that have good return policies. I work a lot and I definitely can’t just make myself available only when a manager is in to make a return. I wouldn’t be returning this flashlight if it was 6 times brighter than my other flashlight, as advertised. I would have had zero problem taking store credit for this. I had already planned on buying some Milwaukee tool that I need. Ace has a return policy written online. There should be absolutely zero need to have a manager present for an open box return from yesterday. I read the policy myself, and I would have been absolutely furious if ace wasted my time driving all that far just to tell me this in person. Take this for whatever it’s worth. I don’t usually ever have to return things, but when a product is not as advertised, it’s questionable to give such a hassle about...
Read moreVery difficult to navigate Ace Harwares web site. It took me over 30 min to get what I was trying to order correctly onto my cart. If you attempt to change the store to another location, it thinks you want the items in your cart from that 1st store. This requires you to delete the cart, switch stores and try again. Then there are price differences between stores in Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach. Oddly some Traeger grills cost $100 more in Merritt Island. So again, change stores, delete cart, try again. Forget using the heavily advertised 15% off coupon on any mainstream grill brand. That would be considered an * exception. Also, they advertised free assembly and home shipping on any grill over $399. But in the cart, it charges you $20 for assembly on a $800 grill. Plus a shipping charge on the free accessory package that comes with grill via the promotion. Reduculios. So I ended up not ordering here as it was not worth the hassle or bother, just to get a free accessories package on Black Friday weekend, that I would need to pick up myself in store when the grill was being shipped to my home. The bigger box stores have superior web sites that actually understand what you are trying to do, with fewer restrictions on coupons as well. Nothing against this particular store which actually had the better price. But Ace needs to step up their web site for ordering or they will lose their...
Read moreI noticed other reviews stated associates had gone above and beyond for them and wanted to share my experience. I live nowhere close to this Ace Hardware; in fact I live 4 states away. I emailed this location(and literally 75 others) looking for a specific item I thought they may had in stock. To my surprise they responded and did in fact have the item I wanted. I had found the item at a few other locations, but none of those would ship the item to me, however, I found the exception! Stephen the manager was so kind and communicated everything clearly, assuring me he had the capabilities to ship said item. He quickly shot me a photo of it, came up with an invoice I was able to pay online and shipped the item to my home. When i arrived home after a trip today, it was here waiting on me. Thank you Stephen and team for helping me get the item...
