I have been hotly anticipating this place.
Once upon a time a NY Pizza House was the best authentic ny pizza before the owner let others manage it and then eventually sold it to Big Daddy J's. (what a stupid name!!!) A neighbor of mine visited the Oceansdie Pizza in Melbourne and brought me a slice and when I tasted it, I was blown away; and upon finding out they were opening here in Cocoa Beach, taking over the god awful and NOT going to be missed Anacapri Pizza I have been licking my chops.
Today is their 2nd day open and I was not disappointed, we arrived late and very close to closing which is typically when you get sub-par service. Not here, we were seated with a smile and friendly service, and our waitress was sweet and treated us like family. Truly outstanding!
The quality of the food was excellent and delicious. The pasta was unique, I say that because it is more of an orange sauce which surprised me but it was very original and flavorful compared to all other marinara sauces in this area (in short everything else in area has been subpar and trash - putting it lightly, the absolute worst being Brano's Italian Grill's chunky tomato water) I did not find Oceanside's sauce chunky at all.
The pizza was fresh flavorful and the best I have had since 2018 when my previous favorite place lost it's quality. The original foundation was torn down and Oceanside Pizza did a total rebuild of the building, so everything is brand new, the decor is a classy casual, with both indoor and outdoor seating for the seasons.
I will say without a doubt, if Oceanside maintains the staff, quality and building, they will be the #1 pizza and Italian spot in Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral. Hands down.
Welcome to Cocoa Beach, please...
Read moreFood was great, but had few problems with service. Pizza was excellent, one of the best, 5 Stars. Philly was good, fries where par at best and small portion. Italian stuff we will stick with, its Amazing. Had overall problems with service/front of house. Had ask few extra times on things on the side. Philly was not made as ordered. Server felt bad of course and got it corrected. But felt the server said she was unable really do anything about the issues, kind of where she didn't want deal with her supervisor or the supervisors don't want to do things. Not a good feeling workers/customers should have, when a simple manager coming to the table and give an proper apology maybe offer a desert or something, but a manager apology works wonder and action. (like most proper restaurants do). Server taking off an up charge to fries that were just OK and not even replaced with the 12" Philly Remake. If you take 10-15 min to replace an main entrée, the side could be or just ask! Simple front of house attention can make this place an easy 5/5 stars, would have ordered another round and would be back, instead of just...
Read moreI’m glad this place is here. I was sad when Anacapri closed, but this restaurant being its replacement in that location has made me feel better. Good pizza with flavorful ingredients. I like the crust, so in my humble uneducated opinion the dough is right. The employees I have dealt with have a good attitude and have been delightful to do business with. I hope to selfishly try and convince them to put a tv there behind their little bar top so I can sit in there and watch football games and drink a beer or two slowly while I wait for my to-go order. I have picked up from their drive through a few times and that’s super convenient. The last time I went through the drive though the gentleman behind the window was very jovial and you could tell he really cared about pizza. I like a place like that and I am very happy it...
