I am sad to say that this was the worst and saddest haircut I've ever received. I went in on Saturday and asked for a trim, and the stylist (who never introduced herself, so I can't tell you her name) gave me a skeptical look and said, "a what?" so I showed her how much I wanted her to cut (about 2 inches) and told her I wanted it angled in front. I have fine, straight hair past my shoulders, and in every single other haircut I've ever had, the stylist has cut my hair in phases, checking in with me about how much I want cut, asking where I want the angle to start in front, pinning up the outer layers while cutting the under layers. These cuts generally take 20-30 minutes. At Arelis, the stylist combed my wet hair, took her scissors, cut straight around in big hunks, and then chopped off about 6 inches in front, leaving big hanks of hair about nose-length. She asked, is this what you wanted? after she did one side. At that point, what could I say? It was like Armageddon. She chopped off the other side and seemed to be finished. The whole thing took less than 5 minutes. She said, OK? and I said, is it even? and she said yes. I was slightly stunned. I paid and left. I didn't even know what to say, and she didn't comb it out in the end (much less ask if I wanted it dried) so I didn't see the whole extent of the damage. When I got home and dried it, I found that not only was the front ridiculously short (and looked awful), but that there were big hunks of uneven hair all around my head- one a thick lock about 2 inches longer than everything else, and uneven strands all the way around. I have never gotten a second haircut to fix a first until that day, but I went to another salon and just asked them to make it even. It was by far the worst haircut I've ever had, and completely unprofessional. I felt like I had been attacked by a 7-year-old playing "beauty school." I would definitely recommend...

This hair styling Beauty Service business is one of the best in the DMV. There is no other place to receive the time, patience and work ethics of 100% that is given by Arelis and her wonderful staff. The whole team is dedicated and talented and works hard on every customer that enters in the door. I started at Arelis 6 years ago and I keep coming back. I know when I leave that my hair has been washed my scalp feeling vigorously clean, hair smelling good and on point, curls flowing and the smile on my Fiance face is priceless when he picks me up 😁. I introduced 2 of my daughter's to my spot and now they are apart of the family at Arelis Beauty Service. Come one Come all for a fantastic hair experience at the end of the day you make your experience and Arelis is the place to experience. The service is excellent and I get the atmosphere and care just like when I was in New York. Thank You Arelis and Staff for ALL that you do. I can you tell I know Dominican hair salons!

As a native Dominican raised in New York, I've been going to salons since I was 6 years old. I moved to the DC metro area 7 years ago and struggled to find a great stylist. I tried 5 "Dominican" places- epic fail. My hair even got damaged in the process.

By stroke of luck, I stumbled unto Arelis 4 years ago and the rest is history! Immediately she could tell my hair had lost its health. I remember she said keep coming here and I'll have your hair as good as know.

To this day, Arelis (owner) has never failed. Gives my a true Dominican blow out causing rave at my office.

Her blowout is so good I decided to stop relaxing my hair because she makes it looks incredibly straight. Now I'm fully natural and you couldn't even tell the difference. The added bonus is now I can even enjoy my natural hair during the summertime as well. Arelis helped me transition. I would use never done it without her.

I know my hair is in great hands and looks phenomenal.

And to top it all, she is such an absolutely wonderful...
