Was in desperate need and had a 2 hour layover in ATL an thought, this is probably the best place to get a proper shave & fade so, we asked around Terminal B and by happenstance the Shoeshine guy gave me the lowdown.Conveniently located just outside the North Terminal the spinning pole like a beacon! The desk was friendly and listened to my requests and hooked we up with FRANK and let me just say, the whole experience made our day. From a picture of a mohawk from an attendant on delta and some back & forth, Frank knew exactly what to do. And the results are epic. I’m over the moon estatic with the ā€œSouth of Franceā€ fade he determined (dealers choice — he’s the professional not me!!) would be the top vote and it t’was. 100 out of 10. Highly recommend. In fact, based on our observations, any & all of this shops top notch team cannot / will not do you wrong. Don’t forget our bet Frank!!! Thank you, and hope our paths cross again soon. Cheers

I stumbled across this business while desperately trying to find a barber in Atlanta during a long layover. I had missed a barbershop appointment at home, was enroute to South Africa for work, and needed to look presentable on arrival. I was very happy to find them in the baggage claim area of the North Terminal. They took great care of me! The staff are friendly and talented. They also serve a diverse clientele with varying haircare and styling needs. I have stopped in for a fresh cut and beard trim two more times since my first visit. One note of caution, check their schedule closely before going. They have not been open on weekends.

The 1st black owned barber/salon shop in the busiest airport in the world! I’m beyond excited & proud to see it! If your going on a trip, leave early to get you hair cut or styled. They even do BRAIDing & LOCS HERE! As well as style & do see ins! The stylist Miss Tre’ with the lavender hair is a great stylist! The Barbers there give the latest & precision cuts! All hair types are welcome here! TBSS RECEIVES āļøāļøāļøāļøāļøā€™s from me!!!

One of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had to be totally honest. I remember one of them being close to this bad about 13 years ago.

Pretty easy cut, just a fade with a 3 all the way around, scissors on top. I feel like that’s a super common haircut these days, at least aesthetically. It had only been a few weeks since my last cut so I asked her to just clean everything up for my vacation. Already had it styled just how I like it when I walked in, and I was very clear with how I wanted it to look when she was done, just cleaned up.

I was clear with expectations, explicit in detail of how my usual barber cuts it, and I wore it in how I wanted to wear it out. All that and I’m a really low maintenance customer, I swear. Seems like a good recipe for a normal haircut.

The nice lady spent 25 minutes very slowly, cautiously cutting my hair. Just sitting in the chair, feeling the way my hair was being held and moved around, I thought it would probably result in me telling her to just buzz it all off.

I should have stopped her before she got too far. But I didn’t. I should have stopped her when a random airport employee came in to gossip with her and then video tape my haircut for God knows what social media platform as she was trimming the sides. But I didn’t. I should have stopped her when all the other barbers sitting around stopped making eye contact with me. But I didn’t.

She then insisted that I get a shampoo, which I NEVER do, but I let her do it, hoping she was using that time to think about a solution. But then she barely dried my hair off, asked ME to comb it, and told me I was done. I said ā€œwe’re all done?ā€ She said ā€œthat’s itā€ šŸ˜‚ Probably because she knew when my hair got dry, it would look like an insane person cut it with Play-Doh scissors. I think it looked like that before it dried honestly. Once it did dry let me tell you... No cap, I had several ~1ā€ hairs sticking up around both my ears (lol). Additionally, she butchered around my part on top with the scissors- cut just as short on both sides so now I got half of my hair sticking straight up on the right side of my head… no amount of product has done a lick of good. Got me messed up man!! Had to wear a hat as soon as I walked out it was so embarrassing. Lol

BUT- the story gave me and all my friends on our trip a great laugh. My best friend said I look nuttier than an outhouse on a peanut farm which also made me laugh šŸ˜‚. The customer service was bad although my hairdresser was really a nice lady. I still tipped $10 just in case this lady loses her job soon. I’m not saying any names to nobody but buddy there ain’t no way she’s been doing this a long time and if she cuts anyone else’s hair like that I wish this establishment all the best dealing with those customers because God almighty that was a horrible haircut.

I would just ask the staff to be honest with themselves- if you don’t know how to cut certain kinds of hair, just let your customer know next time. And if you can’t cut any kind of hair in general, please find a new job while I try to find Jesus. Not worth your pride or a bad review to cut anyone’s hair like this, but I hope you’re happy you got $50 out of me.

Went to a real barber at my destination and got it fixed so it’s all good. Just a crazy experience I thought needed...

Overall my experience here was good, not great, and slightly stressful. I had a layover in the morning with a decent window to exit out to the main entrance in order to get in for a cut, but still make it back through security and to my gate with plenty of time - based on the website's claims of quick, professional cuts. I made an appointment at 9am and showed up about 5-10 minutes early. Unfortunately they didn't open the shop until about 9:15. Floyd showed up first, but didn't have keys. I could tell he felt bad and adamant he cut my hair and get me out within 30 minutes. He did a great job, but was a little flustered - presumably by the deadline that he created. If it was a shop in my neighborhood, I would be willing to go back to Floyd for a cut under a relaxed setting as he did a solid job. But ultimately I probably should have waited until I got home. I did hear them talking about opening the shop sooner to avoid this, so hopefully that is something they decide to move forward with - especially on days that they have scheduled...
