Trader Joe’s has been serving the students in the area greatly since it opened up in 2023. However, from the very beginning of 2024 I am finding it very inconvenient as it started to sell foods that already contains fungus, or not very fresh and the customer service is not very willing to hear about it.

If I be more specific: Just yesterday I bought this cauliflower. It was plastic wrapped, so I couldn’t examine it properly. However when I started meal prepping today I found bugs and fungus inside it.

Earlier last month, I bought 4 bananas and other groceries. After coming back home I checked on my receipt for some reason and found out they have charged me for 4 cauliflowers instead of bananas, which is additional $15. I called to complain, however they declined to look that matter up online and asked me to visit store in- person to claim any changes.

During April I bought a 2lb basket of strawberries worth around $8.99. I kept it frozen the entire day, and for dinner when I open the plastic basket, it was full of white fungus all over inside, but at the top the strawberries were looking fresh that I could never imagined, what can be inside.

sometime recently I also purchased some tomatoes and upon opening the packet I saw white fungus on its back and it is half rot.

So moral of the story is, I am traveling 5 miles to get a cheap price at trader joe’s where I am loosing $10 food at every visit. And definitely it messes up with my meal prepping plan.

I am happily switching to giant where I will pay my saved $10 and...

TJ’s. Near me is over due it’s just so big with a big garage. I usually, go to silver spring MD location. I was so excited once I see the location had the ā€œGrand Openā€ on Oct 27, I was so excited. This this location where I live it was so big with customers including MD university students as well they was so excited just like me. I got what I could and will be going back this morning forgot a few things. Just came back from the newest TJoe’s, this time it wasn’t that crowded at all. I must say when I called this location they pickup the phone with (3) rings. Very pleasant on the phone. However, one complaint please get plastic folks and spoons, knife cuz I truly was trying to eat my yogurt but NOPE I couldn’t and I was so hungry. Got my salad šŸ„— and bacon šŸ„“ and my cereal which I love no sugar added and some ginger and drinks for cold. This time I spends $56.65 and last night I spend $60.54 but it’s all good just me eating healthy. Good JOB PGC we finally have our Trader’s Joe’s HERE and MONEY šŸ’“ WELL SPEND for the...

Great place for frozen food, premade food, salad packages, cheaper good food, but parking not so great and selections disappear without warning. TJ's is like the IKEA of grocery stores. Items I love eventually disappear for something else trendy. TJs loves to break my heart, but I forgive them. TJ's is best for people who don't really cook. There are some very interesting products that they have in the freezer section and in the cool veggie/cheese/ meat areas. But they do have things for those of us who use ingredients. I find their salmon to be cheaper and better quality than Giant. There are great cuts of meat and fresh (but mostly packaged) veggies. I love that their produce bags are compostable! Eggs were cheaper when the eggs were crazy expensive. The parking garage is tight. I hate, hate, hate, hate infinity parking in the garage so I avoid coming by car. So -1...

So this is my first ever Trader Joe's experience this year. šŸ™ˆ All thanks to my UMD classmates. This is the only location I've been to. There is validated parking, the store looks clean, sometimes a little crowded, but it's at College Park so I'm not surprised. These kids need to eat. The prices are fair. The variety of foods is what I love. Lots of International type foods such as a variety of Asian delicacies. Their frozen food definitely surprised me. The ones I picked were amazing. Being a Grad student, working full-time, having a internship, full-time parent of a teenager, yes all of this is why Trader Joe's have gotten 1 more new customer. 😃 Made my life a little easier in times of chaos. The wings and the Thai red curry are my favs so far.
