I got a great price 4 a standard oil change on Groupon what who gives them a credit for I believe they said $5.50 towards the oil filter and they consider any oil filter that costs more than that to be a specialty filter - or as I believe a specialty filter has more to do with the type of filter it is not the price so I feel like they are misleading on Groupon and they should just say $5.50 or whatever the specific number is scorns your oil filter rather than an oil change including an oil filter where you pay sales tax and the recycling disposal fees separately which is listed on the Groupon although tax is not but with coupons you always have to pay tax in places with tags, so I believe they should tell you but it should also be common sense. The Groupon was originally $19 and I used a coupon code to save $10 off, so that part of my bill was obviously $9 and then with tax+ extra for my filter was about $6 and they washed the outside of my car although I would have preferred vacuuming. It is still a price that cannot be beat on a professional oil change and they do normally have a shuttle driver that can take you home if you don't want to wait or you would like to select an all-day appointment so that they work your car in or put it in a canceled or no-show appointment- appointments are very highly recommended and I don't know how long it takes if you have one but I was expecting all day if I have my car worked in and I dropped it off at 9 and had it back before noon what I felt like was good since they do highly recommend appointments & the schedule was full- I still got a same-day oil change! Everybody there was kind and courteous attentive to not only my car's needs but my needs as well as what my car needs for how I drive since I don't drive much I think there's no point in trying to sell me a monthly oil change membership or anything like that since I don't drive 3000 Miles every year, since my car has the monitor is it goes by Revolutions of the engine (or something) - the company that changed my oil the last time did NOT change the monitor of oil life back to 100%, so it said that I had 60% of oil life left and it had been 16 months since I forgot that the reminder was set for 3 months and 3000 miles so I was late on my annual oil change - to help me prevent that in the future they went and got me a marker so that I could change what was written on the sticker since I don't go by mileage or every 3 months although car oil does break down over time my dealership said that it breaks down significantly slower then previously thought, their studies that they did show they recommed an annual oil change or when the percentage monitor that is more accurate because my car has remote start and it counts that part too-whenever the motor is running-not just adding miles but running-but the only time I would have potentially reached that would have been when I went to get my niece + nephew from TX & stayed in Texas for a week. then drove back home 22+ hours each way or when I went to my favorite aunts funeral in South Dakota drove around while there and came home as well, clearly - but I don't remember how many miles between oil changes it was then. I do believe after the out-of-state funeral it still was not at my car's oil used percentage at allow, so even then it was 1 year because my health was not good after that. It was closer than the 22+hour drive to+from Texas & the daily 90min drives to do something & then drive back to the hotel 2-4 times a day! So they took all of my driving habits and everything into their recommendations and noted that I might need this or that in 3-5 years (current cost of part+labor) and that otl when they would normally recommend it in 3 to 5 months with the color or whatever it was that they go by which is what I mean by they took my driving and my car use into effect when doing oil change and the however many point safety check!
I had a very +positive experience & I was not treated differently than the man who was before me in line as many women are at businesses...
Read morePretty brutal last experience at Auto Tech Plaza on Platte. Originally found this store on Groupon for an oil change and stuck with them the last 2-3 years despite living on other end of town because the staff I consistently dealt with were always very kind, welcoming, and easy to work with even if wait times were longer.
Used my extended parts warranty earlier this year to replace oil filter house without issue so when my struts started to leak I called to make an appt due to the seamless process I had just had. Noted on the phone call last week while making appt that I was going to be using the same exact extended warranty, had already called them to confirm struts were covered, and understood that not everything was guaranteed to be covered on work order. Within 5-10 minutes they texted over estimate for me to approve so they could order parts and I immediately approved.
Confirmed my appt the day before and showed up the next day for my appt. Realizing I forgot the warranty paperwork in the car the second I walked in the front door, I ran back out to get it. As soon as I hand it to the front desk- it was immediate annoyance and frustration from the staff that they had no clue I was using my extended warranty for this repair and they would have wrote the estimate different had they known.
Of course I'm baffled because that was exactly what I told the person that scheduled my appt over the phone and I even remember them saying my extended warranty company was easy to work with and this should be the same process as before.
After asking how this lack of communication was my fault if there were no internal notes attached in their system, it just continued to go downhill from there with the specific employee throwing all my warranty paper on the ground by his feet and telling me to pick it up.
From a logical point of view- the person who scheduled my appt over the phone the week prior is actually where the breakdown in communication happened because there were no internal appt notes at all about my repair which is why it was written incorrectly by the co-worker.
Honestly this last (and obviously final) experience left me more confused/disappointed than mad because it truly made zero sense why they weren't believing me or realizing that as the customer what would I get out of this interaction by lying?
Or at the very least from a management viewpoint , consider in the moment of customer interaction that this could very well be an internal team communication issue.
Probably not something you should be taking out on the loyal customer who came into the interaction with zero issues assuming this would be an easy repair appt vs. how I felt leaving after being hassled, blamed, and gaslit with my personal property being chucked on the ground for me to pick up...
