Skate City Academy — Attraction in Colorado Springs

Horrible experience! Staff is rude and they are clearly scamming families! On their website it says Weekend Specials and Friday evening the skate rental is supposed to be free! They charged for skate rental even though it clearly says on their website it is supposed to be free Friday evening! We were here in the evening! Also they have black mold an water damage throughout the entire building! Ceiling tiles hanging down! The floor you skate on has cracks that aren't even taped off that could cause serious injuries to skaters! Their skates are not new in any way! I'm pretty sure their prehistoric! As much as they charge per person they should invest into upkeep of their facility! Tables and benches were gross and clearly not cleaned or sanitized! Staff looks to be 13 years of age or under! They were charging children for water!!!!😥 Disgusting on all levels!!!! I will definitely be contacting BBB especially since their twelve-year-old workers were charging money from children for water and not even putting it in the register, because they were obviously keeping it for themselves!!!! I'm also going to contact the health department and whoever else I can for the state of Colorado!!!! They need shut down for being fraudulent and disgusting!!!! No upkeep of the property!!!! They said you have to have the membership for weekend specials that is not what their website says!!!!

I filed a complaint with the BBB and requested that they be added especially since they kept on saying Corporate wants us to charge for tap water when they have a liquor license. Also there is no posted charge for tap water. After researching they are a non-profit, not from what I witnessed! Please to not go to this location nor plan a any kind of celebration. Business personnel were very rude nor were they concerned or helpful. My daughter attended a Birthday party on April 16, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm. We have never been to skate city. My daughter wore a pair of Air Force 1 black and white to the Birthday party. When I walked In to the facility I didn’t see any signs in the front entryway of beware of your belongings or lockers inside of facility to rent and put in your belongings. As I approached the window I informed the employee I was dropping off my daughter for a birthday party she said walk on in, but I was not informed of any lockers nor of theft in the facility. When I returned to pick up my daughter, I was informed by my daughter that someone stole her shoes and of another child. They placed their shoes on the shelves next to the ring. When I arrived I asked the employee in the front desk if it is possible to make an announcement over the speaker and ask if someone might have gotten the wrong pairs of shoe and return them back. The female employee said they cannot do that. Then I asked if they had a camera? She said yes but doesn’t have access. Which I understand. She then walk around the facility with me. As I walked with her I notice big luggages, big bags everywhere. Then after the female employee walked away. Didn’t ask if I need anything else. I then approached the front and asked the gentlemen of the had a policy in place of items allowed in the facility and he responded with no. This is very disappointing because a place for family is an unprotected unsafe location. This is considered a very irresponsible facility with no protocol or policy in place for citizens protection. If I could give this a zero stars I would. I have been going to this skate city for over 5 years. Love it until management change. I have had multiple lady’s try to fight me for very stupid things and I have not done anything but let them get their anger out. And the recent one they want to accuse me of getting into a physical alter with her… when I asked who it was they say “I don’t know” and I asked to review camera footage and they said they don’t have visual eye where it apparently happened. They also gave me a false corporate number. So I would not be able to call them. As well as not ban the lady I apparently had an altercation with so they say. This new management team is terrible. The GM ban me for life didn’t even want to give me a chance to show I am not the problem… they said “I can come back the following Sunday 2/26/23” and when I came back they said I can’t come in and to not come back. This management team are liars and deceitful. And to refused to inform me appropriate information about this situation. The fact that they don’t Ban the other person but me is inequality and unfair. 0/10 definitely would not recommend giving this business YOUR money!!! Plus Customer service is terrible food terrible and music is terrible. I can’t believe I invested so much money in to them over these 5 years. And they treat me as I am the aggressor when in fact I was defending myself like any one would have done. These people are a joke… they also banned the last DJ that actually brought tons of business for them just because he was getting to much positive business and replaced him with a 17 year old kid.
