Small shop, first visit, from out of town (VA). I went here based on the current ratings. I was looking for a gyro sandwich to go and this seemed to be the place to try. So very glad I did! The service was personal and friendly. I learned that they’ve been in business at this location for 25 years, 1 month and 1 day. I had mentioned that I had tried stopping by 2 days before but has just missed making it before they had closed and the owner? looked at me and said she with sincerity that she was sorry they had missed me. The pita was fresh, soft and perfectly toasted. The lamb/beef was beyond plentiful and full of flavor, the vegetables were fresh and the sauce, amazing. I got back to where I was staying and wolfed it down with 2 salivating dogs watching my every bite. I couldn’t bring myself to spare a bite with them! So flavorful, subtle spices ..all balanced together. I will be going back and will promise to share a taste next time with my...
Read moreWe were in from out of town due to a medical emergency. Dad was in the hospital and mom and I were stressed out, and overwhelmed and having a hard time thinking of something that sounded appetizing. We were in the area running errands and stumbled on this place. The woman working, who we assume was the owner, was so kind and patient and answered our million questions. She even gave us a snack while we waited for her to prepare the food. I am a fairly strict vegetarian but when I saw the lamb, I just had to try it; it's a rare weakness for me. I had a bite and it was worth breaking veg for. We had a couple of gyro plates and a falafel sampler. I'm always excited when a place has vegetarian dolmas and these were what I was hoping for. It was exactly what we needed - for food and soul. If you're in the area, I highly recommend. If you're looking for great ambiance, this probably isn't your place; but if you're looking for great food, then...
Read moreSo I don't post reviews very often - a place really has to leave an impression on me, and this place definitely did! I've been pretty jaded on American-style gyros since I was in Athens for a bit, but today I got the craving. Grand Gyro had good reviews and happened to be close to en-route, so I stopped by. And man did it hit the spot. It was everything I could ask for - good meat, crunchy lettuce, tasty sauce, the pita was great (warm, dense, chewy, not dry...). Fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned. The $7.77 lunch combo is great, other prices were all very reasonable, food came out fresh and quickly, service was awesome (the ladies were very nice) - this is my new favorite gyro spot in the Springs! Best part? They have a loyalty card system to earn you free gyros! You can bet I'll start taking Palmer Park when I have to drive across town, just to get...
