American Classics Marketplace — Local services in Colorado Springs

Super cool place that's got something for everyone. There are booths that have your typical antiques, some signed sports cards, collector coins, jewelry, minerals, vinyl records, clothes, anime figures, rare pop funkos, anime plushies, anime books, kids games, toys, video games, dvds, and more. If you're looking to support someone that's got cool stuff to sell, this is the place to go.

Now I'm not sure if the owners know or even care, BUT be cautious of the items you buy. There are some real sneaky resellers in this place, and what do we know about resellers? They have no shame. I come here from time to time, and I've spotted numerous fake/bootleg items, and the only thing I'm left to do is not support that seller...even if they do have something I'd like to purchase.

I could prove these items are bootlegs. I could prove that these shameless piles of trash go onto Temu or AliExpress, and buy these items for pennies on the dollar, and mark them up 5x the price they bought it for, but what difference would it make? They pay their booth rental so that's all that really matters I sppose.

Lastly I will say depending on who you run into the employee(s) can be pretty...unfriendly. maybe just anti social, but they sure aren't welcoming. Especially the ones that sweep the floor. Which is understandable I guess because they want to "blend in" but I've been asked if I work there when someone needs help, and I only just recently started coming back. I dont think it would hurt to greet someone as they walk in the door, and do something similar as you're sweeping the floor - this is a common opinion amongst my family.

My mom visited me for the weekend. Since she likes old stuff and antiques, I decided to take her to American Classics Market Place. This was the first time either of us had been in the store. We spent about a hour and a half looking around. There is an extraordinary amount of merchandise inside. Lots of furniture, desks, chairs wardrobes, lamps, and other furniture. There are all sorts of old toys. I found toys that were around when I was a kid. My mom found an electric iron just like the one she had as a kid, well not just like hers, the one she found still had the power cord attached. She told me her dad cut the cord off of her iron, because she got shocked one time while using it. There aren't enough hours for a person to see everything in the building in one day.

I think that the best way to visit American Classics Market Place is alone. I say that because of the amount of items scattered about, inside the boundaries of each space. There is something for everyone, and I personally loose all track of time very easily.

The staff members are extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. They pointed me in the correct direction the few times I asked them about something I was searching for. I will return to American Classics Market Place again. I rated the place ⭐⭐⭐ because there isn't any place, that I could find, to sit. Standing and walking on concrete makes...

I didn't enjoy being stalked today by an employee who just literally stood there and watched my children and me. My girls love vintage and my son is starting to collect old military clothes and equipment so I thought it'd be a nice place for them. We stopped by the Beanie Baby section for my youngest. An employee asked one of my older daughters if she could help her find anything and my daughter told her no thanks because she was just looking. That employee then stood there watching my youngest daughter pick out a stuffed animal for about 5-7 minutes. Obviously letting me know she was monitoring us. Not once were my children out of control, disrespectful to the store or anything or anyone in the store. My oldest 3 know how to look and only touch what they are considering to buy and they stayed close by me. My youngest held my hand and all my children stayed under my supervision and direction. They were very well behaved and yet we felt stalked for no reason just in that section. I'm beginning to think she was standing there perhaps thinking we'd steal something. Sorry lady, we're law abiding citizens- never sat in the back of a police car or have been hauled off to jail. She knows why she was staring and so do I.
