Today I found another gem of a restaurant. My taste buds were in for a wild ride, and boy, did they ever get one!
The star of the show, without a doubt, was the Goat Soup. Rich, velvety, and teeming with tender chunks of goat meat, this soup was the epitome of comfort food. Each spoonful was like a warm hug on a chilly day, filling me with a sense of coziness and contentment. The flavors were expertly balanced, with a subtle richness from the goat meat, complemented by the slightest tang of tomatoes and a hint of spice. It was, in a word, sublime.
The Fufu. Ah, the Fufu! A staple of West African cuisine, this delectable dish did not disappoint. Served alongside a savory soup, the Fufu was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of firmness and give. The texture was delightfully satisfying, like a warm, fluffy cloud in my mouth. And the flavors? Absolutely divine! The subtle sweetness of the cassava and plantain blended seamlessly with the rich, meaty broth, creating a symphony of tastes that left me in awe.
The service, too, was top-notch. The staff were warm, welcoming, and passionate about their food, eager to share stories and recommendations. They took the time to explain the history and cultural significance of each dish
In short, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone with a taste for adventure and a love for African cuisine. The owners were a wonderful delightful couple with a warm heart and smiles to match. If you want to support and fabulous restaurant and veteran owned business this is the place. Thank you ArkcleoRich African Kitchen for a...
Read moreMe and my husband wanted to try something different and this place had such good reviews so we chose takeout. Honestly so glad we did.
I got the pounded yam with egusi and chicken and it was amazing. The yam was smooth, the egusi was rich and full of flavor, and the chicken was crispy on the outside but still juicy inside. Super filling, I only made it through half and had to save the rest for later.
My husband had the fried shrimp with fried yams and the side sauce that came with it deserves its own shoutout. Easily the spiciest thing we tried (and I love spice) but sooo good, I’d put it on everything. He also got the rice with beef and lettuce. I tried a bite and the rice was moist and flavorful, the lettuce added a nice crunch, and the beef was a little drier than I’m used to but still really tasty. That’s more of a preference thing though tbh.
The owner even gave us a free soup with goat meat to try (don’t know the name) and it was just as full of flavor as the other dishes, the goat was moist ..it was delicious as well. He was also just the nicest guy...answered questions, shared his favorites and what he’d recommend, and you can tell he’s proud of his food and his business. He wasn’t only making sure our order was perfect, he was checking on other customers too. Super kind, honestly deserves all the love.
Overall the food was fresh, flavorful and filling. The kind of meal that warms you up in the winter and still feels light and fresh in the summer. We’ll 100% be back (fried plantains are next on my list.. will update when i...

The textures were spot on, and the subtle spices elevated the flavors without overpowering them. The chicken was tender, juicy, and marinated to perfection, leaving us wanting more with every bite.
