Prices are sometimes comparable. But A LOT of the times items you can get items less expensive elsewhere (just down the road outside the gate or even online). The "Tax Savings" they offer isn't worth the trouble. Most items (e.g. clothes, shoes, kitchen appliances, etc.) are models from previous years. If you don't believe me, please just look up those same models / items online. Just takes a few seconds. Do your due diligence. Price shop for those same items. You can almost always find those same older models for less elsewhere. Heck, I have even found newer models online for less than what AAFES is asking for the older models at times.
Oh, and they claim to "Price Match" but they do everything earthly possible from honoring that pledge. Instead of providing Military Servicemembers & Retiress with outstanding customer service & rewarding customers for their patronidge in choosing to shop at AAFES over other establishments (by simply honoring their own price matching pledge / commitment), they do EVERYTHING to disqualify the price matching and have no problems trying to embarrass their "customers" in the process. And this is not the junior employees doing this. No Sir / No Ma'am. These are the so called assistant managers / managers. So I ask everyone to think twice about spending your hard earned money at any AAFES (especially at the Fort Jackson AAFES) where you are treated less than honorably. Take your business elsewhere. Seek businesses where you are treated as the VIPs you are. Especially during this COVID epidemic. There are businesses that need customers / sales to stay afloat and survive from having to shut down permanently. And they almost always will... "Price Match" to make the sale. So shop local. Shop outside AAFES. Stop giving AAFES your money. Even their fuel is more expensive. Nothing is worth spending your money at AAFES. The only ones that should be making purchases at AAFES are the BCT & AIT Soldiers in training who can't leave Fort...
Read moreDear Store Manager Mr. David,
I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the amazing team of employees you have, including the wonderful Manager Monica. However, I must bring to your attention an issue regarding Shirley, in the shoe department that I believe needs to be addressed.
During our recent visit to the X, our experience was far from satisfactory. The level of customer service we received was subpar, largely due to Shirley's lack of professionalism and customer care. I was particularly disappointed by her biased and racist behavior towards my family, which raises concerns about how such behavior can exist in a reputable establishment like our X. The absence of empathy and professionalism towards veterans is both disappointing and unacceptable.
It is disheartening to observe such a lack of quality and professionalism at the Fort Jackson ARMY base X. I regret to say that the oversight in allowing an employee with such low standards to continue working at the Fort Jackson ARMY PX is truly concerning.
I hope that this feedback can be taken constructively to address these issues and ensure that all customers, especially veterans, receive the high level of service they deserve. Thank you for your attention to this...
Read moreIn my three decades of military service, using PXs & BXs worldwide, multiple deployments using PXs in combat zones and after retirement using several all over the US, I have never seen a more poorly managed PX than the Ft Jackson PX. The total lack of management & planning for “Family Day”, every Wednesday, is to the level of reporting to the Fraud & Abuses hotline. The lack of personnel working, the failure in getting customers through the food & PX line, the HEAT inside are all signs of ZERO command influence & basic management skill. Until a full removal of management, senior staff & military leadership that continues to allow this to occur is completed, our families of soon to be graduates of Ft Jackson will suffer & see the failing organization their loved ones have joined. After seeing a young lady become faint while waiting in line for lunch, from the heat & extremely long lines, I was forced to write this review. Management should take a self assessment and find a new profession.
UPDATE FROM 1/27/23 I have been in numerous third world restrooms kept cleaner than the one at the PX at Ft Jackson. Again this goes back to poor...
