Shelter Gardens is a gem in Columbia, MO. This park offers a an experience for a variety of visitors. The covered area is perfect for photos and picnics, and I saw many people relaxing and enjoying the open fields. The small waterfall and bridge add a charming touch, and the old schoolhouse is a unique feature where you can even write on the chalkboard or take photos.

As we walked in there was a security guard who also was walking in I thought cool the place is monitored for safety..the place was quite cute although the flowers were in desperate need of water . Things took a fast turn for the worse we had only been in there for 2 min if that when we here the security guard lady calling closing time so we start to make our way back to the front as the gate got in sight I noticed it was locked and the quard headed back to her car she has locked us in there ..I yelled mam as running toward gate she looked back and kept going..she seen what she had done locking us in there .the place has a 6foot gate around it ...I hurt my leg knee. Cut my finger climbing up a spot we finally found we could climb over ...it was a very terrible experience ..this was only 2 days ago...

Wasn't even smoking cigarettes and the man told me I couldn't smoke. My dog a small little lap dog was sitting beside me on the ground. I got a call from my boss and was talking to her about one of our customers. The security man told me after telling me I couldn't smoke cigarettes in the park it was also illegal for my dog whose old and on a leash. That I had to hold the dog's leash. He said it was his bosses that made him do it. I didn't say anything I just got up and left the park. No need to be judgemental because a guy is wearing work clothes taking a break.
