Love Sushi — Restaurant in Columbia

The overall service and food quality were excellent. I am pregnant and am very careful to ask questions about what is in my food, both for safety and preference sake. I informed my waiter of this before even starting to order. The waiters were patient and went above and beyond to accommodate. Unfortunately, on one of the plates I ordered, there was a sauce that was not clearly listed on the menu or mentioned during ordering. It was something that I could not eat, and I spat out the very first piece I tried. I did not eat any of it. When I asked the waiter about it, he went to talk to the owner about, and told us that they couldn't take it off the tab unless it was a mistake by the kitchen. He was only willing to try giving me 10% off that one item, which I couldn't even eat. When I went to speak to the owner directly, he was dismissive and argumentative. He told me that his wife is also pregnant, and would have been able to eat it, as if all pregnancies are exactly the same, and all dietary needs are the same. He spoke as if he thought I was trying to be cheap and get out of paying for it, even though I told him I would be ordering something else anyway since I couldn't eat that item at all. He reluctantly took it off the check, saying that he wasn't going to argue with me about it. He also condescendingly said not to order the same item again in the future. The entire conversation was made worse by the fact that he was on his phone the entire time and being very dismissive and rude. The waiters and the food were amazing; dealing with the owner and the lack of accountability is what brought the rating down so far. Please for your customers' safety, clearly list all ingredients on your menu...

Well the sushi was good but 🤧🤒😵😵‍💫😪😣😖.....um what happened to me tonight at Love Sushi was quite embarrassing to say the least and I felt quite belittled by the service I received. So today I went on a family outing with my sister her husband, there 2 kids, and my daughter. We had a very eventful productive day, so of course I was not dressed to par and honestly quite bummy I suppose, due to being outside with the kids all day . Anyways, we get to Love Sushi parking lot, my sister went inside to get a menu came right back and we were all sitting in the car deciding our takeout orders. My daughter then asks to use the bathroom, so I take her inside Love Sushi to use the restroom. As soon as we walk in we are stopped by the hostess and she tells us only customers can use the restroom. I apologize and tell her I was planning on becoming a customer. We proceed to the restroom... As soon as we get out we are Bombarded once again and the hostess immediately asks if she can help me..I say, excuse me I need to see the menu first... And we proceed to walk around her to the counter where I could scan the menu barcode.. it didn't work on my phone and she had to give me a physical copy. I felt so awkward to be intimidated like that into buying when the whole family was planning a huge order in the car while me and my daughter had to wait there awkwardly (felt like I was being watched) ..until my sister came in and we ordered together as originally planned 😅And all together spent nearly 100$. Honestly that kinda service is SHAMEFUL!!! I shouldn't be judged by how I dress or because I walk in alone with my child!!! You should never judge a book by it's cover!!! So...

I was here yesterday and there was a CHEMICAL on my plate/in my sushi. I first ate two tuna rolls that tasted a little off but I couldn't quite figure it out. then I moved to the right side of my plate and tried one of the California rolls which was SATURATED with some sort of chemical! I spit it out on a napkin but had already ingested some of whatever chemical was in it. I assume someone either sprayed a chemical near the the sushi or the plate/cutting board the sushi was on was not rinsed from whatever chemical sprayed on it.

I immediately was not feeling good and started to shiver. I told the waiter that this tasted like chemicals but when he talked to the manager they said "everything was prepared as normal".

The manager didn't even bother to come out and check my plate. I wasn't complaining that the food tasted bad because of my preferences, I was complaining that it had CHEMICALS on it. that's not okay! I was violently throwing up for the rest of the day and most of today. I have no idea what I ingested but I'm horrified.

I've been going here at least once a month for a year and in general this has been my favorite sushi place for the last 5 years. I will never come back. I can't believe the manager didn't even have any respect for this place to come out and inspect my plate or try to figure out what happened. The negligence for safe practices here is questionable and I do not feel comfortable suggesting this place to anyone ever again. I don't know what chemical was in my sushi but it made me violently throw up and shiver for 2 days now.

My dad ended up paying the whole bill. Very disappointed and still very sick from...
