It’s so funny how my original review was removed for being honest!
I lived in the apartment for a little over a year and I can tell you I hated that apartment. First off the walls are paper thin. I got a noise complaint simply talking to my boyfriend in our BATHROOM! Yes! For talking in the bathroom! People are allowed pets but seldom clean up after them to the point I wouldn’t even walk around the grounds with my 2 kids. There was hardly ever any parking spots after 6 PM. Completely not enough parking spaces for apartments and no assigned parking. I had to literally on numerous occasions park in Burlington parking lot in the dark and walk over to my apartment with my 2 small children. Maintenances was not quick to respond and some fixes were not sufficient.
The biggest issue was the staff. They appeared friendly at first but when we had a dilemma with out rent there was no sympathy or help. We were basically told by a certain date if we did not have rent they would evict. By that date they did not follow through and took and additional week to file on us. Curiously my boyfriend went in to see why and to offer the rent in full with the fees and was told by the staff that they tried to call BOTH of our phones in order to give a chance before filing yet official phone records from BOTH cell companies shows no calls except for the one call after they filed in court. Even then, in court their lawyer states in OPEN COURT in front of the judge our arrangement and the fact we had the money was more than reasonable and that the property manager would have to agree. We went to the office to speak to her and she looked us dead in the face and refused to accept the terms of the agreement despite the fact I came into a substantial amount of money. She was the rudest person I had ever met and even went as far as yelling and threatening to call the police in front of our children after looking at us with our kids and denying the agreement, even though she supposedly reached out initially to help us stay. A complete liar and hypocrite. Not to mention she practically pushed us out of the office and slammed the door in our faces. I wrote a review and their lawyer sent me TWO letters accusing me of slander and to remove my review.
Management by far was the WORST I’ve ever seen to date. Even called corporate and left messages and they did nothing about the situation nor did they reprimand their employee.
The ONLY thing I liked was that it was close to all the stores on sawmill. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. They’ll probably remove this review as well seeing as how they removed the first.
Response to apartments comment: There was no “multiple opportunities” you did not reach out at all. There was never a phone call (which I can verify with phone records), no additional notices or notes on the door or our apartment which was literally one building over and we came in TWICE to make payment. Not to mention you REFUSED TWICE at court proceedings to take the rent and settle on other agreements. How is that offering multiple ways to resolve the issue. And yes there is a balance becaue YOU didn’t want to cooperate even at the advice and with your lawyer saying in open court the offer was fair...
Read moreI live in a 1BR, and it's a lot of space for one person. Sawmill Crossing is one of the cheapest properties to rent along the Sawmill strip/Dublin area.
I really like the location, because it's close to everything I need shopping wise, and there are ample dining options.
The community is well kept, and I like that the entry ways and hallways are frequently cleaned to get the smell of cigarette smoke and weed out from the carpets. The keypad entry is nice, but the numbers have never changed, which means once someone knows the code, they can get in any time. Sometimes you really need to punch the numbers hard to get it to even operate... a key card controlled entry would be so much better.
The utilities aren't bad, but be advised that WOW doesn't service this location which sucks. My water and electric runs up to just over $100 total.
This apartment is a good "first' apartment to move in too, but it's not a place I'd recommend staying long term. Several families live here, and kids run around in the parking lot, in the hallways, and up and down the stairs. The apartment walls are paper-thin, and you can hear everything. I've had several problems in the past with my upstairs neighbor stomping too loudly and children running around at late hours.
There is minimal parking at this community, which is really frustrating at times, and some lots are just absolutely terrible to park in, because it guarantees that your car is going to get damaged at some point. The additional traffic from Burlington Coat Factory doesn't help either.
Management is great - Randi has always helped me with my problems, and I love going into the office just to have a conversation with her. She's really pleasant and is working hard to turn this complex in the right direction.
Update 1/3/2017
Subleased my 1BR and upgraded to a 2BR with roomates, and everything is pretty much the same...however,
I would rather rate down to two stars at this point because rent raises are too much, management has already turned over, and the grounds are no longer kept; not to mention that the power ran out for the entirety of the complex with no emergency lighting - it lasted for over 12 hours without explanation.
We will not be renewing our lease. Our biggest frustrations were that the entry locks would not function 7/10 times, other tenants are VERY loud, and they also drive very poorly through the community! Trash compactors are always full, or crowded with furniture and bags, and pet pick up areas are never picked up. Finally, I feel as though the management doesn't provide the same kind of time and care as previous like how Randi and Seth did.
These frustrations weren't a "make it, or break it" for our lease, but it certainly put us on the fence a number of times. When we received renewal increase notices though, we knew it...
Read moreI've lived here for two years now. Everything was great up until a few months ago when we switched companies. I thought it was just bad luck that they got in during COVID timing, but they have been just terrible about everything.
On the phone, they are the sweetest people. Through actions, they're not quite great.
I cannot receive any emails from them. I've called them multiple times about this and still no change for months now. They say they sent it to IT to fix but four months later still no change. I cannot set up an account to pay bills because I cannot get any confirmation through email. Again, staff over the phone was helpful and one REALLY big thing is that they didn't charge me for paying late, but to go months without being able to do anything is quite frustrating.
I also had to call them to schedule an appointment with maintenance. They were very helpful over the phone, but I specifically said on Monday that I wanted to have them come in on a Tuesday at four so I can be there. Tuesday morning I go to clear the way for the maintenance and I noticed that things have already been changed! No not of entry, no call saying it was completed. Nothing. I called them and apparently they did the maintenance on Monday while I was at work. While I appreciate the speediness of fixing the issue, but it felt very bad to find out this way and for the scheduled appointment to be disregard with no notice of entry or of what got fixed.
I also had packages sent to my complex from Amazon, one being a thermometer for work. The complex went from accepting packages to storing them in the fitness center (which but the way my neighbor got his package stolen this way with no help from the complex even though there are cameras there's), to all of a sudden stating that they will no longer be accepting packages. No two week warning, nothing about accepting packages only on route, just decided one day no more packages. I went to the front desk and begged them to please accept my package tomorrow as it is a thermometer, and the front desk said sure, only for me to see on Amazon that it was rejected and returned to sender. I know during covid this is very difficult, but this was not handled in the best way.
I enjoyed living here before, but once my lease is up I have no intentions to stay unless rent is very cheap. It's just...
