The Perfect Pour is known as a bit of a hidden gem amongst craft beer enthusiasts and has generally been an excellent place to pickup a 6 pack of a new flavor I've never tried before. I was ecstatic to see that they weathered the pandemic, and did my part to keep shopping there as much as I could.
However, this year the original owners sold out to a corporation that has made a few changes. The store is largely the same, but in an effort to revamp things and bring in their new style, they stripped away a lot of the old charm of local business, and have changed it for the worse.
Sure, you can stop in and find your favorite beer, and their new seasonal flavors, but they no longer organize the store by flavor group, and instead by brand. Good luck finding a new IPA you've never seen before sitting next to your usual go-to. Want to try a new sour? Spend the next 15min searching the entire store for one!
I understand that this is just a natural part of owning a business, but as usual the new owners had to come in and change something that didn't need to be changed. So, from now on I'll shop elsewhere, and warn anyone that used to shop here that it's not the same as...
Read moreHas great selection of most types, probably the largest selections of barleywines Ive ever seen. A lot of options from Ohio.
They have beer, seltzers, wines, mead, thc and cbd drinks, and more. Service was very friendly.
2 things I would recommend to improve are the general organization and storage of fruit beers. Because things are kind-of grouped by brand, it took a minute for me to find new selections.
I noticed many cans with dried weepage from the top seal and seemed very pressurized; I assume this is because many beers (smoothies, slushies, sours, fruited beers) are meant to be refrigerated constantly and don't keep well on a shelf (the store is rather warm). While I know they probably want to provide customers many cold options, the refrigerated areas should be reserved for things that require it to prevent spoilage and ensure customers enjoy their drinks as intended - these are typically expensive cans.
All that said, the selection was above average and...
Read moreLet me just start off with saying, I love Perfect Pour. What a selection, they also have a good selection of wine! Both of the owners are awesome, know their stuff and are very personable and make you feel at home at this establishment. They are more than happy to talk beer with you and guide you and help you find just what you are looking for. They also have beer tastings all the time, and it's really cool to meet the different breweries reps and get to try stuff you may not normally buy. This store just gets better and better every week they are open. They have tons of merchandise to buy and free stuff like stickers from breweries and what not. I can see this place going really far with maybe some food trucks in the summer while tastings are going on. If you like craft beers come support this new business, you won't be...
