I've used another location before and was happy with the work but decided to try the Polaris location today. What a mistake. I have a two year old phone and the battery wasn't lasting as long as it used to, so I simply wanted the battery replaced. I dropped it off, but when I came back two hours later I was told there was a "problem" with my phone because the new battery they installed "drained immediately" and "wouldn't charge". So, they put the old battery back in, handed the phone back to me, and said there was nothing they could do. This makes no sense. I had no problems with the phone charging the old battery before I brought it in, and it's been able to charge the old battery since they put it back in. Clearly, the problem is not the phone; the new battery must have been faulty. You would think a Samsung authorized shop would know this.
Not only that, but when they gave the phone back to me, the tempered glass screen protector was completely covered with tons of deep scratches across the entire face. When I showed it to the guy and asked what happened, he mumbled, "Oh [name] what did you do?" (I assume he was referring to the tech that did the repair). This was the same guy that I originally gave the phone to when I dropped it off and he clearly recognized that the damage was caused by the tech. Aside from one extremely small almost imperceptible ding, the protector was flawless when I brought it in. At that moment the store manager came out and asked what the problem was. When I showed him the scratches he said there was nothing they could have done to cause the scratches and kept insisting I must have brought it in that way and repeated that he couldn't take my word for it. He essentially accused me of lying. After I kept insisting that he replace the protector, he finally relented, but instead of replacing it with another tempered glass protector like the original, he installed some...
Read morei cannot say enough positive things about this store. normally i would perform repairs on my own, but the risk of destroying my phone added to the adhesive google uses was more than i wanted to get into. i stopped in on the off chance they had a walk-in available. the person i spoke with was courteous and entered a work order for me but needed to have a part delivered. they gave me a few days expectation and i agreed to come back when it was in. the next day i received word that they were ready for me. i returned, and there was a line. it became a revolving door as customers seemed to be in endless supply. i checked in my device, and having overheard their queue depth, was nervous. it's my phone. i am not crazy about how attached we are to our devices, but the reality is: the time of day is often hard to come by without them. either way, i happily agreed to come back in just a few hours, knowing that was optimistic. i made sure i had the time to spare, and headed over at that time. there was still a line! so i quietly sat in the corner and observed. in between customers, the employee working the front assured me my phone was being worked on, and gave me regular updates as i waited. i watched as they helped several customers OBJECTIVELY decide if repair was a worthwhile choice in the face of the cost, guided two people through the complicated claim process that their providers clearly didn't understand, and continued smiling as they helped an inexplicably angry customer who muttered vulgar comments under their breath but refused to repeat those murmurs when asked for clarification. when my device was done, they answered questions, gave advice and explained about the warranty on the repair that i didn't even expect to get. all in all, a great experience to extend the life of my phone, reduce e-waste, and keep me moving along in my day the...

Trey is the best person to talk about and get genuine answers when it comes to phones and their repairs. His no pressure approach to phone maintenance and work, readiness to identify better ways to handle phones to reduce likelihoods of breaking, as well as putting customers first is what has me coming in for the second time.
My original issue was with a screen breakage, but after talking it over, it was clear that it was better to just buy a new one for about the same price simply to save time and hassle. Trey wasn't afraid to suggest that buying eslewhere over doing the fix could be a better option. In the process, he also answered my questions about better maintenance care for my phone, and how to identify when it needs to be worked on prior to experiencing similar problems. This not only will reduce the financial burden on me, but is a faster and overall less expensive option, and has solidified this place (ubreakifix) as my go to phone repair store. Thank you Trey for quick, reliable, and customer conscientious practices, I'll see you in about another year when I need to have maintenance done again!
Edit: They let Trey go, overall service is normal, pricing is normal, and they aren't holding back as much on encouraging their customers to buy things they may not need (screen protectors, phone cases, and the like). They aren't necessarily doing anything unethical, but I know they also cut their short term warranty policy on screen protectors, and don't have enough materials on hand, or trained staff for Fold 3 fixes as what they have previously. I've now made 4 trips to the store, only to find out that they either didn't have the materials, or people trained...
