Google Maps will take you to Commercial Street where there is no parking 🅿️ available. It is near a bus stop 🚌 🚏. The best place to park is on N. Main Street. It is a neighborhood but I did not see 🙈 any "No Parking" signs. The entrance is a little confusing. If you travel from the Pierce Manse side, you can walk along the sidewalk to the railroad tracks. Further on, the Walker Farm trail is next. I revisited and explored most of the pond, not named Amy. I walked along the old railroad 🚂 tracks and I think 🤔 it followed the left side of Horseshoe Pond. The right ▶️ side follows Commercial Street and is part of Concord's Heritage Trail. The right side is a little difficult to traverse unless you use the sidewalk across the street. A scenic pond and I did encounter wildlife, if you consider 🐝 bees, a monarch butterfly 🦋 and a turtle 🐢. I did see a swarm of birds take off from the nearby field. Water Lillies and lilly pads decorated the pond. I could hear 🙉 the birds but the helicopter 🚁 from the nearby National Guard base was the only distinctive species I observed. It looked like a UH-60 Blackhawk. There was not much 🚯 litter. I did observe a homeless encampment and people along the railroad tracks. I was glad to see men with fishing 🎣 poles getting ready to enter Horseshoe Pond. I went back 🔙 and further explored the area. I followed the railroad 🚂 tracks and Google Maps and arrived at the left ⬅️ side of the pond where there is an embankment, not a bridge. Google Maps shows the pond on both sides of the embankment but it is only on one side. The "Island 🏝️" is actually farmland. I would recommend walking the tracks in early Spring 🌱. There is overgrowth covering the tracks including thorns and seeds that will stick to your clothes like Velcro. I discovered an abandoned shopping 🛒 cart, some litter 🚯 and a shotgun shell. The pond I encountered had birds and dragonflies hanging out. If you want a short, semi quiet 🤫 getaway or walk, I will...
