An honest review from a local guide: Very cute shop with nice ambiance and a nice mix of modern and classic decor. Unfortunately, the donuts or not as good as they look. The crullers are all extremely saturated with old tasting oil. The choux is so loose and wet it falls apart in your hand. The regular donuts also taste like old frying oil, but with frosting on top. All of the frostings, drizzles, and fillings are high quality and taste good. However, the raspberry mousse filled doughnut was studded with clumps of Gelatin (or heaven forbid, Raspberry Jello) that was not properly mixed in with the mousse and the Eggnog bread pudding was an extremely dense, and heavy, solid clump of wet flavorless bread. Or what once was bread maybe, I’m not sure what the exact recipe is, but it was glob of unappetizing glutinous mush. It was a brick even after heating. The best thing that I had there was the white chocolate latte. I will say that it took a VERY long time to receive the coffee, and a line formed behind me because of the wait. All in all, I paid about $32 for 6 bakery items (5 doughnuts and the bread pudding) and one coffee. Very high pricing for what are extremely underwhelming donuts. It’s easy to be distracted by a modern and high quality looking establishment. The thing to remember here is that donuts are extremely low cost to create, (even factoring in labor) and are topped with tasty bits of frosting and drizzles that are meant to elevate the flavor and texture of the doughnut. The base of these doughnuts are simply not good, while the toppings have more effort put into them. You can pretty much get the same eating experience from Dunkin Donuts or Honey Dew. Supporting local businesses is great, but this product doesn’t warrant the money. Why pay top dollar for sub par doughnuts when you can get similar elsewhere for...

For the donuts, I'd give 5 stars.
I'm annoyed with the management right now. They and their loyalty club get one star.
I've been going in there once a week or so since they opened this location. I'm enrolled in their loyalty club. Usually I pay with the same debit card every day, and it tells me my point total after the purchase. This morning I did nothing, so I asked the staff.
First they said "Oh, you needed to log in first. Sorry. I think if you log in now you can still get them." So I hit the login prompt on the sale terminal, and gave it my phone #. Then it freezes showing me their logo. I point this out. They say "It says enrollment not completed. Sorry, it's too late now." No offers to try anything else, like backing out the charge and starting over. Nada. Granted, it's only 6 points, but still really annoying.
Then I get to my office, sign into my email, and there's my usual email receipt. So clearly the system DID know who I was. And at the bottom of the receipt is an offer to JOIN their loyalty club to claim my points from the purchase. Now I'm thinking my existing points are gone too. So I enter the phone number again on the join form. It says "Thank you for joining" and has magically found my previous loyalty points.
Now, I'm glad I didn't lose those points, but really, if this is a system upgrade, it's a LOUSY one from the customer perspective. If the donuts weren't so good I'd be walking away...
Read moreIt pains me to write this…but I think I found my new favorite donut place. Why does it hurt, you may ask? Well, I live in Florida - not New Hampshire - so I can’t get this every week! I wish I could!! 😂
New Hampshire Doughnut Co. is an AMAZING spot in Concord. They have the best donuts I have ever tried! I get donuts a lot so I definitely know what I’m talking about. They have so many amazing flavors here!! We got a whole variety of different donuts: maple bacon, pumpkin cannoli, stuffed French toast, s’mores, vegan cinnamon, Reece’s Pieces, pumpkin glazed, apple cobbler, gluten-free vanilla + GF apple cider donuts, and honey-dipped glazed! Everything was so good, but our favorites were the honey-dipped glazed, pumpkin cannoli, maple bacon, and stuffed French toast! I heard from the lady behind the counter that they have different flavors all the time, so when we are finally back in New Hampshire, I am VERY excited to see what they have next!!
This place also has excellent coffee as well. I got an iced caramel apple latte and it was really good - better than most places. Great vegan options and gluten-free donuts as well! They just hit home-runs all around! This is an awesome place. Check out New Hampshire Doughnut Co. next time...
