In 1934 Conroe Mayor Harry M. Crighton hired architect Blum E. Hester to build the acoustically perfect Crighton Theatre, modeled after the third and most popular of the Majestic Theatres in Houston. With the rise of modern cinemas, live theaters lost their audiences and were forced to close their doors. While the historic Majestic Theatres of Houston have all sadly been demolished, The historic Crighton Theatre was donated to Montgomery County in 1976 and restored to its original glory. We are so blessed to have this thriving historic theater in Montgomery County with regular performances by a number of local production companies. This a hidden jewel 💎 in Conroe. First visit for Beauty & Beast musical show due to my friend’s invite. It was a blast! My daughter told me the show was even better than Disney movie. Beautiful stage and costumes. The volunteer actors and actresses were pro. The historical theatre is also like a museum, you can see the exhibition and real pieces from 1930s. 5-Star experience. I hope more and more friends get chance to visit there and enjoy the shows.

Stepping into the theater for a live performance of "Shakespeare in Love" was, quite honestly, a revelation. As a newcomer to the world of stage plays, I wasn't sure what to expect, but this production completely swept me away. From the moment the lights dimmed, I was utterly captivated by the witty script, the charming performances, and the sheer energy of the entire staff...

This was my first time going to the Crighton Theatre, but it won't be my last! This last Saturday I went with my mother for "A Night with Elvis". To see the tribute artist Dony Edwards perform. He is phenomenal. My mother has seen him several times and she is always blown away by how much Dony resembles Elvis. And he sounds so much like Elvis, it's truly amazing. And my mother would know, she saw the real Elvis Presley twice! Anyway, the theatre is quite lovely. With a classic look, starting the moment you are walking towards the entrance. It speaks of a simpler time, when buildings were more than just rectangular structures of cement and glass. And inside it's very charming and very clean and very well maintained. I love the chandeliers! We go into the auditorium and it is beautiful inside there as well. The architecture above and around the stage is very cool. The seats are comfortable, with plenty of spacing between. And even though the event was sold out, there was no issue seeing the performance. I plan on going to see other shows at the Crighton Theatre in the future. I highly recommend that you give it a chance. I doubt that you'll be...

We had the pleasure of attending CYT’s production of Annie, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The cast was bursting with talent, delivering powerful performances that kept us captivated from start to finish. Annie’s charm, Miss Hannigan’s hilarious antics, and Daddy Warbucks’ heartwarming transformation were all played to perfection.

However, the true star of the show for us was Sandy! The dog stole every scene, with an impeccable performance that was both endearing and impressive. It’s not easy to command the stage alongside such a talented cast, but Sandy did just that—earning well-deserved applause each time. You could tell how much love and training went into preparing Sandy, and it paid off in a big way.

The CYT team created a magical experience for the entire audience, from the stunning sets to the catchy musical numbers. This production truly brought the story of Annie to life, and we can’t wait to see what CYT does next! Highly recommend catching a performance if you can.

Bravo to the entire cast...

Mary Poppins was amazing by CYT. I would recommend it 100%. The actors did an excellent and professional job. We were so impressed with all of them. Just spectacular performance. And I first saw it I London!! So these youth here at a local theater blew me away. The only thing I would change is the sound system, you couldn’t hear the dialogue very well. It was sometimes muffled. So if you hadn’t seen the movie or musical, you would have a tough time understanding the story and miss some pertinent points. The story is way too good to miss any of the wonderful dialogue. Hire a good sound guy and update your sound system. I know it’s tough because you work by donations but I think it would greatly improve the experience if you could possibly update it. I’m on the volunteer tech team for a big church here in our area so I know some professional sound people that could help you out but I couldn’t find any way to privately contact you on...
