Read moreThe food here is amazing. It's always prepared with care. The kind of care you put into cooking a meal for someone you love and want to impress.
The service is outstanding.
But what I'd like to talk about is the atmosphere. Indulge me please, I wrote this (or something similar) out 6 months ago after breakfast here and I hit the wrong button and lost it. Because of the emotions it brought out in me I just couldn't type it out again, so I posted my stars and left the review at that so here goes me trying again:
When I walk in I'm 4 years old again. Walking with my dad, holding his hand on base, or in the commissary. Or I'm running with my mom to see him come into port and see the sailors in their formations before they disembark. Or I'm tracing the badges and medals on his uniform with my fingers asking him what each one meant and asking him to tell me about where he's been.
I love every bit of this place and I tear up at least once every time I come. I love to look at the pictures, the decorations, the mementoes, the coffee cups, the menus. I imagine what each service person went through. The sacrifices made. The family they left behind. What they saw. What they felt. The friendships made. I wish I could have brought my dad here before he died, but every time I come here, I feel him. Every time I see service personnel eating here, I see him. When I hear them talk and tell their stories, I hear him. For all of this I want to thank the owners, deeply. I can't tell you what this place means to me and how it makes me feel, but I'd be willing to bet you know. Thank you. Thank you for your service. Thank you for giving service people a place to feel that camaraderie again. And thank you to all who...
Read moreEdit to previous post from attending an event at this location 3 years ago I finally made it here to experience their restaurant. The food was amazing, really, it doesn't make me cringe to spend $13 on two large crispy chicken tacos or a plate of juevos rancheros with how good the meals were. I ordered a country fried chicken plate to-go and they unfortunately gave me the steak, I brought it to the servers attention and they did fix it within about 10 minutes. The thing I am perplexed about the most on is their erroneously priced mimosas, I'm not sure if all of their alcohol is extremely over priced or just the mimosas because that is the only alcoholic drink I had but to be charged $8.50 for a small champagne flute of mimosa is crazy. I guess lesson learned, if I return here for food (which I likely will because the food really was amazing) I will simply have to avoid the alcohol unless they come down to more reasonable prices lol There was no menu on alcoholic drinks which is why I was unaware of the prices until I got my bill, had I known prior to, I would have judged better or atleast been prepared for the price on the bill. The gal who served us was kind and helpful and again was quick to correct the error of the to-go order.
We went to an event here honoring Vets and it was such a well planned/organized event and an honor to be apart of it as well! Thank you, we plan to come back here as this was our first time coming here and it really was such a great experience, from the food, the service, the...
