ALDI is a lower cost, chain grocery outlet. Be aware, in advance, of two of their cost-saving efforts--to use/access a shopping cart for your visit, you have to deposit a quarter for its release, said quarter being refunded if the cart is placed back in the rack; and, NO shopping bags (paper or plastic) are provided by the store - you must bring your own bags (preferably re-usable) and pack your own purchases. ALDI offers a fairly wide selection of typical supermarket fare, priced lower than you'll find in the big name stores, but sporting brand labels with which you may not be familiar. Store aisles are wide & uncluttered (usually) and the store is clean and well-lit. In another cost-saving measure, staffing is kept to a minimum so finding someone to assist in locating an item can be challenging. However, since there are only four aisles to walk, and product variety is limited, finding items from your list (or, an off-brand equivalent) isn't difficult. ALDI has no on-site pharmacy, no garden center, no in-store bakery or deli counter, and no self-checkout lanes. Look at ALDI more as a grocery store, not a supermarket, where you'll find quality food and dairy products at VERY reasonable prices.
This ALDI's is located within a large shopping plaza and is not a stand-alone store. There is easy, signal-light controlled access into/out of the plaza onto SR436/Semoran Blvd. There's plenty of plaza parking available across from the store entrance, as well as handicap parking a few yards distant. Store entrance/exit doors are easily negotiated by wheelchair, and shopping aisles are wide and...
Read moreAldi had become my favorite place to grocery shop. Most of their items are their own label not name brand - but don't let that scare you. I have never purchased a product their that I didn't like. It is high quality at a price lower than Walmart. I tell friends it's like being Costco's Kirkland brand but in sizes made for a single person. The stores are small so it makes shopping faster. Breads and dessert bread like Chocolate Chip Brioche, Cereal, Granola Bars, Coffee Cream, refrigerated snack dips like Mexican corn dip it Cheddar Bacon Dip, frozen foods (Shepard's Pie & beer battered cod fillets) and frozen desserts (chocolate peanut butter ice cream , mini eclairs and chocolate lava cake) are some of the things I absolutely love and the price makes Walmart look expensive. Bring a quarter to rent a shopping cart - which you get back when you return it and bring some bags because they do not bag your purchase. Their checkout lines are super fast but this store now had self check out. Also special items come in every Wednesday. They tend to go fast but offer items not usually carried that tend to be holiday or seasonal. Many of them I wish they carried more often. With grocery prices going through the roof, I find Aldi the best way to get high quality food at the best price possible. No coupons, no cards, no gimmicks to waste your time. Just good quality food cheaper than anywhere - in a small space that makes...
Read moreThis location is in the middle of a remodel so I'll look forward to heading back when there done and it's all complete. In the interim it's a bit difficult to shop here. The entryway sidewalk on the left side is blocked with a fence, meaning you'll have to walk in the roadway (at a busy stop sign) to get into it, unless you park in the busy lot in front of it.
To be honest I couldn't figure out the cart situation, and they were all locked together, and I was carrying the baby so that was frustrating. They don't offer hand baskets either. At least not that I could find.
Inside, like I said, is being remodeled so it's mostly packed into one small section. The basics are all there though. They had diapers, wipes and food pouches, which is what I needed. All for just ten bucks, so can't beat that!
Overall: B- Looking forward to the remodel and am updated review at that point. For now it's just okay. They have the essentials but it can be...
