Bay Area is a bit more expensive than smaller outfits but you pay for what you get. Bay Area will fix it, what ever “it” is. I have been with Bay Area for at least 35 years and I have always been satisfied.
I wrote the above about April 2 after my installation of my $15,000 top-of-the-line air conditioning system. I was very pleased until I became unpleased. The humidity control does not work. Five trucks have been out here and no one can fix it. That is costing Bay Area and that is not right. The last technician called Carrier and for 45 minutes over the phone went over all the settings and Carrier says everything works. My humidity will not go below 66%. It runs in dehumidifying mode for 14 hours and never gets to 65%. For $15,000 I expected to go to 50% because that is what the picture of their book shows and that is what my air conditioner would do for the last 15 years—-50%. This is not a problem of Bay Area Air-conditioning this a Carrier Problem. They need to come here and fix this or Bay Area needs to remove and replace the ENTIRE system and Carrier needs to pay for it. This is why I spent almost $15,000 on this. My old machine was 15 years old and things were starting to happen so I sprung for a brand new 10 year factory warranty and a 10 year labor warranty a/c. With that said, they need to fix it this week or install a completely new system that works. This system did not work the day it was installed. The blower motor in the air handler did not work. A new blower motor was brought out here and of course it worked. However, I got a repaired machine before it was ever powered up in a/c mode. In other words from my point of view I got a used machine. My gripe is not Bay Area AC. Carrier is claiming nothing is wrong. Well, the humidity doesn’t work so something is wrong. Unfortunately, Bay Area is going to have to fix it and unfortunately it’s gonna probably cost Bay Area some money. I hope they can recoup at all from Carrier. This doesn’t mean I’m not recommending Carrier products. This means I believe I unfortunately got a “lemon” and there’s no way to...
Read moreThank you to Bay Area Air Conditioning, and especially Daniel for their help yesterday. My husband has an auto immune disease that is exacerbated by heat, humidity and stress. We also have a large dog Yesterday evening (on a Sunday, of course) it was starting to get awfully hot in the house and we discovered our AC was not working. I reached out to our AC company and was told they don’t have emergency people on the weekends they will call me sometime on Monday to set up an appointment. I then called another company recommended by a neighbor. They said their tech would call me. And he did within 5 minutes and said he’d be here in about a half hour. Next thing I get a call from his dispatcher telling me how they are so sorry but he won’t be coming out tonight because he is at another customer’s home and doesn’t know how long it is going to take. I said wait a minute… he just called me and said he’d be here. Well he won’t but someone will call you in the morning. That’s when I reached out to Bay Area. The person I spoke to was polite, friendly, helpful and set us up to get a call from their emergency technician that was on call (what a concept!). Within a few minutes I received a call from Daniel, who was just as polite and helpful. He was a bit away so thought he’d be here in 30 to 45 minutes. Daniel arrived in 30 minutes diagnosed and fixed the problem within a half hour. Stayed to make sure all was working and then left. I can’t say enough good about this polite, intelligent young man. I would not hesitate to call again. Within an hour and a half it actually started to feel very cool in here. Mind you it was dark out on a Sunday night, but the temperature outside was still 84 with a heat index of 97 so you can imagine how disgustingly hot it was in the house. Thank you Bay Area and Daniel. You have a new...
Read moreUPDATE: I'm writing an update (Late May '25) because I was not able to leave an additional review on Google. A couple of weeks ago I had a reason to call Bay Area Air Conditioning out again due to the extremely high temperatures and a tenant thinking the system wasn't working properly. Philip phoned me immediately upon my request for a customer service phone call and explained that with the extreme hot weather that was probably the only issue but the tenant still felt there was a problem and so I called back and luckily Philip was able to go out within a couple of hours and thoroughly checked the system inside and out and determined everything was properly working and there were no issues with the unit whatsoever and took the time to explain to the tenant why it was hotter than they would have liked. It is an older home in Beverly Hills Florida and therefore struggles at times with keeping it cool to 70° in 95-100° temperatures. No fault of the unit. I would like to thank Phillip and Bay Area for their outstanding customer service and very prompt call out times. Will always recommend them to anyone looking for AC service in the area. ORIGINAL POST: We had Bay area Air conditioning install a new system several years ago and anytime there's been an issue I've called them and they have immediately come out. Just this week I had to call and they sent a service tech out, Jose Rios, the same afternoon and he was very professional, knowledgeable and explained everything in a manner that I could understand. He was totally trustworthy and I was very relieved after the appt. He has everything up and running shortly. Very reasonable rates and I'll not hesitate to contact them in the future....
