I waited nearly a week to post my review...waiting for a calmer demeanor to preside and just post the facts without emotion. First, I only rented this particular vacation hone because it had a hot tub. Two days prior to arriving, via a phone call, I contacted Bloomer Estates to confirm that the hot tub would be cleaned before we checked in. They assured me it would be cleaned. Upon arriving, we peeked into the hot tub. It had quite a bit of sand in the seating areas and floor. I also observed that this hot tub was a couple decades old, at least. This was confirmed by the 2nd tech sent out. I contacted BE. They sent out a tech right away and offered, I didn't ask, to refund the hot tub charge ($130?). The hot tub temp was only 99 degrees and cooling. It's so old you can't read the function buttons. On Monday I requested help with the hot tub. Six hours later, no response. I texted Dawn again. They sent out a 2nd technician. I watched him clean the entire hot tub, along with the filter which was black with dirt. He took a photo and sent it to BE. He noted the old age of the hot tub, too. Anyway, the hot tub was dead in the water (pun intended). Okay, on to other activities to do not rainy weather. We are PNW resident, so rain does not deter us. I give 2 stars because the place is cute, has a good range and DW and WD. BUT. Open the kitchen drawers and prepare for disappointment. 8 normal spoons. 8. Cookware that wouldn't sell at Goodwill. I travel in a van, so we brought my stainless steel cookware in for our use. I have posted a picture of the badly scratched Teflon cookware. In summary, the planned hot tubbing I would enjoy with my 5 teen granddaughters was a bust. Also, you will be baraged with emails full of don't do this, do this. Honestly, I was a bit mentally exhausted from hearing all the rules on repeat. UPDATE: added pics of text to support my factual statement we waited 6 hrs for a response. I would have preferred an apology than the implication I...
Read moreWe rented Serenity on Sandy Shores over Spring Break 2025. The hottub was half full when we arrived. We assumed this was an oversight and filled the tub. The following day, it was not full again. The tub was leaking and unusable, the house was disappointing and since they were unable to fix the tub, we ended our stay early. I would give this rental no stars if I could. The listing calls out: pristine hard floors, effortless meal prep, plush memory foam beds, leading to the picturesque beach, relax in the hot tub, and ocean front. The photos are well done and misleading.
When walking in, the house does not present as pristine. Neither bedroom provides plush memory foam. In the bathroom, paint is coming off the walls and the sink faucet isn't securely mounted. There were other inconveniences however, the hot tub not working is what resulted in us ending our trip. The staff at Bloomer Estates could use some training on how to speak with clients when their rentals aren't up to par. It isn't the client's fault! We were not spoken to professionally and little responsibilty was taken by them for the outcome of a ruined vacation. They wanted to move us to another rental, neither location they offered had what this rental was supposed to offer and why would I trust them with another rental? Anyone would like to arrive at a home and have it be as advertised. I will not be using this company again and would not recommend renting from them. Also, I was "asked/told" what type of review I should leave by the Office Manager. They were very unprofessional. Going forward, I would not trust reviews from this company as the house I rented had 5 star reviews and I can assure you it is far from any stars. Rent from this company at your own risk and don't expect to be treated fairly if things aren't...
Read moreThe home we stayed in was fine. Nothing terrible but also have no desire to go back. I have basically two reviews the house and rental company. House: We stayed at the lakeside forest retreat. At arrival the house was mostly clean. Toilets had definitely not been cleaned since whoever was the last to use the primary bathroom had an extremely upset stomach. Really great thing to find when you first get to a house. Place mats were left on the dining table and covered in the maple syrup from the breakfast of whomever stayed before us. The rental had very strict rules about the neighbors getting very upset if a dog goes onto their property. This only applied to us since their dogs were always on the property. Pooping on walkways and scaring any wildlife off we might have been able to enjoy.
Rental company: first off everyone I spoke to was very nice however everyone claimed to be new anytime an error was made. This excuse got old! Trying to get clarification on the fireplace/ temp control, “sorry, no idea I’m new”. Sending an email with a bill to pay the pet fee I had already paid, “oh sorry I’m new”. They did call halfway through the stay and asked if there was anything they could do to make our stay amazing. Loved they did this, I mentioned how having a step stool in the home could be handy since I’m short and the cabinets are tall. They offered to bring one the next day, it never came. The person who offered to bring one was you guessed it new! All these things wouldn’t have been a big deal if it was just one or two but it felt like it just kept adding on. I waited about 3 weeks to write this review in hopes of getting a response of some sort from the end of stay survey. We had such a disappointing stay and it really bummed us out since we had been so looking forward...
