A month in advanced I booked 2 rooms= 1 family suite and 1 deluxe family suite . ||When you check in you have to go to a different property ( Ocean View by The Arch ) owned by the same company/people (not sure which) check in time according to their website is 3:00 PM (pretty standard) I booked through bookings.com which stated "No prepayment needed, pay at property " . My family and I arrived at 3:05 PM (5 mins after check in begins) at which time the very rude and unprofessional hotel manager told me she had sold.one of my rooms leaving just one room left for my family I asked her why and was told because she tried to call me and I didn't answer so at 3:00 PM she gave the room to woeone else (keep in mind 3;00 PM is when check in BEGINS) I told her I reserved 2 rooms because the size of my family requires 2 rooms, additionally 3;00 PM is when check in starts not when it ends and I didn't answer because I was driving to which she replied that if I wanted the room I should have answered my phone in my defense I told her regardless of what I was doing I am not obligated to answer my phone for her or anyone else and all I am requir3d to do if I want to rent 2 rooms is make reservations for 2 rooms, show up on day of arrival, and pay for the rooms. She contained to tell me I should have answered my phone. I happen to work at hotel myself and am well aware of the fact that if you have reservations at any hotel (in Washington or Oregon) and the hotel overlooks and doesn't have a room for guest with reservation by LAW the hotel is required to find a hotel with compareable room to what you had reserved within a reasonable distance at the hotels expense they are LEGALLY supposed to pay for the guest to stay at the other hotel. I would have demanded the manager find and pay for a room some where else for my family and had she objected I would have called the police but by this point I was so frustrated I had no patients to deal with that manager for even a second longer. ||Side Note: Lobby was filthy and unkept it looked like a daycare exploded in there with toys all covering most...
Read moreVery sad this place has changed so much. Our family of 20+ people stayed at "Our Place..." every summer for a few years until it closed a couple of years ago. We spend thousands every summer for multiple rooms. We were very excited when it reopened but it's definitely NOT THE SAME. Seems run down; 1 cup coffee maker in the 2 bedroom family suite; kitchen cabinet doors are filthy inside; Under couch and chair cushions are disgusting as well as under couch; no lighting on back deck which leads to a completely flooded horseshoe pit but lighting outside bedroom window (covered in thin, tattered curtains) keeps bedroom brightly lit all night long. Fireplace causes suite to fill with smoke but smoke detector has no battery and is not working. No access to any of the advertised accommodations and desk staff seems intolerant to simple questions. Under prior management the rooms were fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, large coffee pots, utensils, paper goods and seasonings. Now, all are sparse and only a small salt shaker is provided. Though the rooms seemed to have gone down hill, the prices have gone up. We'll be canceling our reservation for this summer and looking for someplace else to continue...
Read moreI booked this room for a short trip to visit friends. I passed by several other hotels with what appeared to be nicer rooms, for a lower price, because this hotel listed that it had two beautiful hot tubs, and a sauna, as well as a fitness room.
Upon arrival, we discovered that one wing was marked as out of order, and wen we checked in, we were told that the hot tubs were out of order, as was the sauna. Some how all of it was not working, at the same time?!? In addition, the fitness room was in the same wing as the hot tubs and sauna, so it was, for reasons not explained, also not available. From what I heard from other people staying there, this had been going on for several days, and was still going on the next day when we checked out. We had arrived in town early, just so we could enjoy these amenities, and this was the only reason we booked this hotel, at a price that was entirely too high for a mediocre room, with water that tasted off, no A/C and just generally a low quality room. No chance was given for us to cancel, and no offer was made for a discount, considering that everything they advertised to make this room sound appealing, was available.
Will never...
