First time at this movie theater, and it was a major disappointment as we were not expecting a movie theater like this in Wellington. The staff is unfriendly. I felt bad to ask basic questions because of eye rolling and point blank answers. I had signed up for the CMX rewards at home and wanted to take advantage of the program. I ordered $65 in food for my 4 family members. It took 4 employees to try to apply the rewards to my account and 20 minutes, which resulted in Grace, the manager, writing down an email for me to contact. I missed the beginning of my movie, no apologies, nothing, just silent attitude, like little children. There needs to be a responsible adult in charge to supervise the young adults dealing with customers. This was just the experience at the front. We haven't even made it into the auditorium yet. Just when it couldn't be any worse. The food was horrible! The burgers and fries were cold and dry, and the nachos barely had cheese on it. The soda machine needs some cleaning and care. The coke had a horrible aftertaste. We threw it all out. It was really bad. What's going on? We just decided to head in, watch the movie, and leave. How can it get any worse? Well, upon walking towards auditorium(7) you will see 2 buckets in the middle of the long hallway filling up with water from a roof leak. Now, when we got to our seats, the recliners were all cracked and very uncomfortable, especially if you're wearing shorts or a dress and insanely filthy. The rotating tray was broken to add. The walls in the auditorium had graffiti! The seats when reclined back you will find old popcorn everywhere, so please don't purchase any popcorn as you will get a bucket full from your seat courtesy of the negligence of the theater cleaners. The auditorium that we were in was very small, not a problem, but, you would expect that it should be very easy to maintain and keep clean but like mentioned earlier there needs to be better management. The men's bathroom had clogged sinks and broken urinals and sanitary pads with bodily fluid all about the women's bathrooms. So overall, if you're looking for a dirty, unsanitary, unfriendly movie theater experience, then CMX Wellington is what you're looking for. FYI, it was for a matinee, I can't imagine what it will look like during the busy evening hours. I'm usually a benefit of the doubt, easy-going person, but this was a bit too much to...

Let me start by saying that How to Train Your Dragon was absolutely amazing — I highly recommend the movie. What I cannot recommend is this theater.
This place used to offer a luxury experience with great food and comfortable seating. Sadly, it feels like management either changed or simply stopped caring. I was shocked to see how empty the theater was on a Friday night for such a popular film — and after my experience, I understand why.
After printing my tickets, I went to the concession stand where I stood for 6–7 minutes as the only customer while 3–4 employees behind the counter ignored me. Once someone finally helped me, I found out that multiple items we wanted were unavailable. They no longer offer food delivery to your seat either, which used to be a highlight. Instead, we had to wait 15 minutes and ended up missing part of the previews.
A staff member also tried to upsell me a souvenir cup by falsely claiming it’s the only refillable option, even though the menu clearly states both large drinks and popcorn are refillable. I purchased two entrees, two large drinks, and one large popcorn — totaling over $100. The food was disgustingly greasy, and both my girlfriend and I ended up feeling sick and needing to use the restroom during the film. The photo I took (after the movie ended) shows a literal puddle of oil left behind. We barely touched the food.
To make matters worse, when I went to get a refill halfway through the movie, I was told they were “closed” and refused service. If you’re going to sell refillable items, you should be open for the full duration of the movie — period.
The theater itself was filthy. Hallways and bathrooms were full of trash and stains. The leather recliners were cracked, and the projector glass had a toddler’s handprint smeared across it — casting a visible shadow over the screen for the entire movie. Clearly, they don’t even clean the projector glass between shows, which would take less than 30 seconds.
This theater is no longer worth the price, the drive, or the experience. I won’t be coming back until management steps up or changes entirely
We will see tomorrow how management handles this, if they step up, admit they have a problem and handle it property or if I should contact corporate and Amex...
Read moreThe night of the Black Panther Premiere finally arrives, and my guests are starting to show up. Some of the guests start making their way to the actual theater and immediately realize that there are no Black Panther imagery, banners, pictures, or anything to take a photo or selfie with. That struck me as odd considering all the hype and media coverage surrounding this movie. Nevertheless, we all proceed to our seats.
The seats were comfortable, but the theater was very small. The sound was weak, and the 3D experience wasn’t worth the money. As a good host does, I waited to greet my guests and gave them their 3D tickets. I did not want to miss the movie myself, so I waited out front as long as I could. By the time I got to my seat, 11 of my guests had shown up. As the movie started, more guest started to show up.
Fast forward to the end of the movie. I realize I still had 7 tickets remaining. I went to the counter to get a refund for the unused tickets and was told I could not get a refund. Say what now? What kind of policy is this? I ask to speak to the manager. The manager Michelle comes over to explain that they can not issue me a refund because the movie is over. I said, “so what about the unused tickets, what am I supposed to do with these?”
I explained to her that I bought 20 tickets($16 each) for a viewing party and that 7 of my guests did not show up. She looked at me as if she was confused and disgusted by my presence. I simply told her, thank you and good night. $112 down the drain!
As they say “There’s more than one way to skin a cat”- hence this review.
I WILL NEVER RETURN to this theater ever again and suggest you all do the...
