The MIA Delta Sky Club is pretty underwhelming and IMO not worth it if you're not a full Sky Club member. In all fairness, I visited waiting for a 7AM flight, so it was early in the morning, but didn't find that to be a worthy excuse for the lacking customer service and environment of this Sky Club.
I forgot to take pictures, but let me say that generally, I'm a huge fan of the Sky Clubs, especially the often outstanding customer service the staff normally gives in general. It appears that the MIA Sky Club didn't get the memo on excellent Customer Service. Especially Herman, who was quite rude at least twice during my 90 minute visit.
The layout and offerings: This club is smaller, sparsely decorated with fairly UNCOMFORTABLE seating, and I tried almost all of the seating options. There is a lack of power charging options, relative to what you normally find in a club. The food service has a buffet line, but almost all of the beverage selections except coffee require the bartender. I would say food quality is slightly below other sky clubs.
Customer Service: The staff, especially Herman, was either disengaged and unfriendly or just objectively rude. Unhelpful is another descriptive that applies. This Sky Club has this horrendous announcement speaker that would be too loud for a space twice as large, but just mind numbly terrible. TURN IT DOWN!
I will add I'm a "rule follower" when it comes to the current global situation, but this Sky Club aggressively tries to apply the same mask policy that applies in flight (maybe.) I was literally sitting 10 yards away from anyone else, with my drink in my hand, actively drinking, and the staff basically ran across the room to make sure I had a mask. There's following the rules and reminding people to follow the rules, then there's just being jerks on a power trip trying make people "do as your told." The staff at this Sky Club falls into the latter category. I did not appreciate it.
If you're a sky club member, and stuck, it's probably still a slightly better option than the random airport restaurant/bar, but it's a one star for a Sky Club. Also, send Herman back to customer...
Read moreI visited the Delta Sky Club on December 21st, around 3:00 PM, hoping for a peaceful break before my flight. After setting down my belongings, I stepped away to grab some food and a soda. Unfortunately, a man seated at the bar was blatantly intoxicated and loudly spewing offensive remarks—among other things, he demanded people say “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays” and made hateful comments about Jewish people. It was shocking, disturbing, and completely ruined the atmosphere.
What bothered me most was that not one Delta staff member intervened. This individual was clearly over-served and causing a major scene, yet no one stepped in to de-escalate or address his behavior. I watched him leave the lounge, walk to gate H9, and then proceed to argue with the gate agent—making more offensive, racist remarks. Eventually, he was told he could not board, and he caused even more of a disturbance.
All of this could have been prevented if Delta staff had stopped serving him alcohol sooner and taken proactive steps once he started acting belligerently. I came to the lounge seeking a quiet, comfortable environment but instead had to endure this person's hateful tirade. Situations like this make me question why I continue to fly with Delta when such blatant oversights occur.
I sincerely hope Delta improves its alcohol service policies and trains its staff on how to handle disruptive individuals before incidents escalate. This experience was not just inconvenient—it was...
Read moreAs a Platinum Medallion member with Delta, I’ve come to expect great service — but today, out of the many times I've visited at the Delta Sky Club in Miami, the team truly went above and beyond.
I ran into an issue with my reservation (one of those frustrating ones where policy is policy), and honestly, they didn’t have to help. But William, the lounge manager, stepped up with grace and professionalism, resolving the issue with care and making me feel genuinely supported. His leadership set the tone for the entire experience.
At the bar, Carlos and Maty — two absolute staples of this lounge — greeted me like family. They’re always friendly, always courteous, and always on point. Their consistency makes every visit here feel like home.
Amelia also went the extra mile, literally. She disappeared into the back and returned with fresh Cuban pastries just for me — such a thoughtful gesture that really hit home, especially on a long travel day like today.
Every staff member I encountered made me feel welcome, valued, and looked after. It’s moments like these that remind me why I choose to fly Delta, even when it means taking three connecting flights to Montana. Because this kind of service — this kind of human hospitality — is worth it.
Thank you again to William, Carlos, Maty, Amelia, and the entire Delta Sky Club team in Miami. Today, I truly felt like a Platinum member.
