Had a layover of 16 hrs in Miami, returning from Sao Paulo. I was tild by Admiralty Club that I qualified for the 1st class (Flagship) Lounge, near gate D30. So I chose to visit.
Of course, I would prefer to be home. But as a second choice, I would not mind spending 15+ hours at this luxurious lounge, like now, when I have no other choice but to be here. Thr facility is spacious, clean, quiet, sparsely occupied, and with very courteous staff. The quality of food and beverages is quite good. Coffee is delicious... although at 6-7am, I noticed that the espresso/capuccino machine needed to get coffee beans refilled, but staff was not looking into it until someone complained. But not so throughout the rest of the day... I noticed that as more staff members came to work, things began running quite smoothly on all fronts.
Just a lityle side comment... my experience here at the AA Flagship Lounge is such a drastic contrast with that from the various AMEX Centurion Lounges at various cities of the US. (In SF, a bartender at the Amex Centurion lierally barked at me when I asked for 2 glasses of beer, that was meant for me and my guest. He said that I should finish one and come to get the second one. To which I said "Say Whaaat?" I laughed and said there 2 persons. He caved in. I wasn't sure where that had came from. Aniother criticism on the Centurion Club... it was so small yet so crowded... people were almost stepping on each other. I just brushed aside the rudeness of that bartender, but to this day, a few years later, it remains embedded in my memory as a prime example of very bad, inferior service.) Enough badmouthing of the Centurion Club. Sorry.

As a frequent flyer and lounge user, I have to say this is by far of the better lounges for silver member BA / club world holders.
located at gate D30 - really easy to find and well signposted. Next to the open bar for all the aviation enthusiasts, you have a beautiful view of the aircraft's and within a stone's throw of their magnificent craftsmanship. food selection - wide variety of hot food buffet style choices. A few cold choices ie BLT sandwiches and guacamole. Cured meat and selection of cheeses also available - all clearly marked with ingredients. Any allergies, it is suggested to speak to staff members. Food is delivered to a decent standard for a lounge!
For the beef lovers, there is a prime rib section!
drinks - a beautiful open bar with spirits, champagne, prosecco, beer and juices to accompany. Really stunning decor. space - really spacious and offers quiet zones, a small business centre to the back with a printer! Has soft music in the background without drowning conversation. showers - flying long haul, this is a godsend!

Read moreLiteral no on to welcome in! Terrible staff experience all around in Miami. Except for the baggage claim customer service late night shift. Came back today to follow up on check bagged problems continue my journey after delayed a day a got a completely different response from the check in desk. Literally supervisors were lying to my face and telling me falls information after last night witnessing actual information on their screen. Asked for a supervisor and got blown off as they could not help. Then get to the lounge and ask for a supervisor. Apparently this place runs like a military establishment and to speak to a supervisor requires I repeat my issues multiple times to multiple people. Worst I have not been offered water and asked to wait in the front for over an hour now with no updates. I might as well be sitting in the terminal. Terrible customer service. This entire airport needs a leadership. Dallas was extremely pleasant even with server flight disruptions. Miami they all look depressed and wanting to leave as soon as possible. Bring the Dallas team here to show them good customer service! Finally if you use shower #1 the water runs out of the shower all over the rest...
