Bad food got me sick here! I wish I could do a minus-5 stars...
I got a sandwich at the D-38 location earlier this month (10/7/24), as I had a long layover. It was about 6PM and this was my only meal since breakfast about 10 hours earlier, other than a couple packages of airline cookies and a canned soda.
I literally thought I was dying that night!!! I spent a fair amount of time throwing up through the night, and ended up calling in sick the next day. I was really bad for the next 24-36 hours, and still took me the rest of the week to recover.
In hindsight, those sandwiches are probably prepared the night before or very early in the morning, and if they don't go through them, by the evening anything that was wrong with them, has been exacerbated.
I have a very strong stomach, used to international travel. Having grown in Latin-America, and traveled around the world, I do not have a weak immune system. Suffice to say, I had not been that sick to the point of throwing up since middle school!
I was hoping to find a website to send them a direct letter, but could not find it. So here it is,...
Read moreMy friend and I were on our way home waiting for a connecting flight to NYC and checked out some yelp reviews to see where we should eat. Safe to say that Miami airport had quite a few options to select from and I am so happy we chose La Carreta.
The food was tasty and affordable which is a beautiful and surprising combination especially at the airport where you're usually breaking the bank to eat anything. I ordered the ribs with rice&black beans and steamed vegetables. The portion size was also shocking beause I had some leftovers when I got back to NY. The food was really good and other people thought so too because the place was packed. Thankfully we were able to get a seat and enjoy our meal because there is a small seating area. This is definitely a spot I will check out again when at Miami...
Read moreTried this restaurant with my friend while waiting for our connecting flight back to JFK. The menu looked great out front and we were expecting to oder the guava bbq ribs but once inside we were told that they just had plain bbq ribs. We were expecting a full restaurant with table service but this was more of a lunch buffet. You went down the aisle and just pointed out the food that you wanted. If im not mistaken you got two sides with each main dish ordered. But surprisingly this was some of the best food that Ive ever had in Miami! Everything including the meat was so delisicious and cooked to perfection. Im just sorry we didnt find this place on our previous connecting flight heading to our destination of costa rica. Now I have a place to look for whenever Im in the Miami...
