Safety Alert: Hidden Glass Hazard at Jupiter Inlet Lagoon

I've visited this park near Jupiter Inlet over 50 times in the past decade and previously would have given it 5 stars. However, a recent incident has drastically changed my perspective. During a Christmas break visit with extended family, what should have been a pleasant day turned dangerous.

While our children were exploring the lagoon, two of them suffered multiple cuts on their feet from broken beer bottles carelessly discarded in the water. One child lost balance and fell, cutting their palms as well, resulting in a bloody scene. Though fortunate that only two of our six children were injured, the incident left our entire group panicked. We had to rush to perform first aid in our car during drizzling rain.

When I reported this to the lifeguard to prevent other children from getting hurt, their response was disappointingly dismissive. They merely stated that 'these things happen here' and offered a casual apology with no indication they would address the hazard.

This incident has transformed what was once a five-star destination into a concerning safety risk. While the park has many merits, visitors should exercise extreme caution, especially around the lagoon area, to avoid similar injuries.
