UPDATE...August 2025 The Jupiter Scuba management team reached out to me after the last review I posted in an effort to fix the bad parts of our experience. We just took them up on it and flew in for a couple of days of diving. I'll cut right to the chase, we had a fantastic time. Credit to Jupiter Scuba for reading these reviews and trying to fix it when problems are communicated.

Dive conditions were awesome, even with a bit of a drift. As usual, the captain, crew, and dive master were amazing. We used Nitrox and there were no issues with our bottles this time. I've never seen a dive group follow safety rules and precautions as meticulously as the Kyalami group does. That was impressive and it helps build confidence in folks like me who have only been diving a couple of years.

On day one, we ended up doing Captain Kurl's Reef and the Wreck Trek. Both dives were amazing with abundant sealife and coral. But the Wreck Trek exceeded our expectations by a long shot. It was loaded with Goliath Groupers and multiple different species of sharks. Of course we saw tons of other sealife and some pretty cool shipwrecks, but the stars of the show were those Goliaths. Wow. The experience and skill level of the captain and crew was evident as they knew exactly where to put us in the water so that the drift would carry us over the wrecks.

I really think Jupiter Scuba/Kyalami did a fantastic job of turning a disappointing previous trip into a bucket list adventure and I'm sure I'll head back to Jupiter in the near future to dive with them again.

March 2025 - Jupiter Scuba - the Good and the Bad. I booked three Scuba trips with Jupiter/Kyalami for 3 people in my group. Two trips cancelled due to high seas and winds, which was obviously completely out of the control of the company, but still disappointing.

The Good: the crew was awesome. The boat captain was very skilled and the first mate was also really good. The dive master/guide was attentive and did a great job of keeping the group together and tried hard to show us cool stuff. Pre-dive communication was excellent and the Jupiter Scuba team was pretty easy to contact when needed.

The Bad: we came all the way from Phoenix for these dives and our main desire for the trip was to do the Wreck Trek and also to see Goliath Groupers. We were made to believe that the Wreck Trek would happen, but the chances of seeing a Goliath grouper were not ideal as this is not the high season for them. When we checked in for the dive, it was immediately apparent that the wreck trek was not going to happen and that it wasn't the right time of the year for it, so was never really in the cards. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I wish Jupiter had been upfront with me about this when I called to book, as it would have influenced my decision to do the trip.

In addition, for the second dive we did that morning, my wife's bottle was about 1000 psi low at 2500psi. We didn't catch this until we connected her BCD and then it was too late to switch out the bottle (disconnect, switch bottle, do Nitrox gas analysis, reconnect bottle, etc.). Since I was her dive buddy, this cut her and my second dive drastically short. SECOND HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

One would think that the bottle not being full was a fluke accident, however before my first dive of the morning, I also connected to a bottle that was almost empty (1600psi). I let the first mate know, and fortunately we had time to react, switch out the bottle, re-analyze the gas and reconnect.

Overall, we left pretty bummed out. And, while we'll likely come back to Jupiter to do the wreck trek and see the Goliaths, we will look for another charter on...

Just absolutely awesome. From the first contact till I was northbound I95. They responded right of way through text and emails that yes, were still a go for diving conditions. Then I thought it was going to be tough finding a parking spot. Nope, easy pezzy. They are really great. Perfect instructions. Just pull up they help you unload everything. They carried all my heavy steel tanks, dive gear and they carried it all the way to the boat. They also placed it all in my "resererved" spot out of the sun on the boat. Then, I don't know how they do it, but they put you in the water right exactly where the big gigantic huge Goliath groupers are. Awesome. The boat has good shade too. It's diesel engine but it's clean. Not so stinky diesel smoke either. They provide EVERYTHING. Plus their drinking water is clean and don't taste like you're drinking chlorine out of a cooler. They constantly check on you to make sure if you need anything. They got plenty of Pepsi too. Snacks and even breakfast muffins? In between diving they also broke out big time sandwich haoggies? Oh, an I had a Dive "Guide" too . Ken was just absolutely great. He took me right directly to see the giants and pointed out some sharks and other stuff too. He also kicked the jellyfish out of the way to prevent me from being stung. He also pointed out hazards for me too. He also made sure to provide me a very fun and safe return to the boat. There was this boat person named Sue. She makes sure that everyone got on and off the boat with ease. She made sure that I was good to go. Plus she was very helpful and lots of knowledge too.

And oh, there was another woman who I think was the dive master and she towed a line for the diving flag. I forgot her name but she had these neat cool looking rashgaurd bottoms on with a whaleshark design. If you get lost, just follow her. She seems to really know a whole lot about scuba diving.

The entire day was just absolutely wonderful. The boat and crew had plenty of very experienced diving professionals. These people are not just extremely professional, courteous, safe and fun, but all of the other customers seem to have been on this boat a whole lot too. There captain and crew made it all look like so much easy-going and fun. But most importantly safe.

When you are back at the dock they give you the opportunity to rinse your gear off too.

There's a whole lot more to include but I just can't wait to go on this boat again.

I just wanted to say thank you again for taking on that...

I have been diving with Jupiter Scuba Diving aboard Kyalami for many years and the reason I return is because the experience is outstanding. It’s a family owned and run operation and all the crew is helpful, polite and enthusiastic. The boat is clean with plenty of room aboard. In May of this year Kyalami was re-powered with a brand new Caterpillar diesel which is quiet, smoke-free and fast. They get to you to the dive sites really quickly. The entire experience is very friendly and welcoming. There’s an expression that they use that says once you’ve dived on Kyalami you become family and you’re always welcome back. I feel it and I see that from so many drivers who return over and over again. The crew can’t be beat. From the moment you arrive at the parking lot they whisk away all of your gear and place it aboard the boat. After you park your car, you walk down to the boat and the crew will assist you in setting up your gear, if you so desire. At the end of the day the crew takes all of your gear and tanks from the boat and brings it up to the parking lot where they place it in your car once you pull up. Safety is always of critical importance aboard Kyalami and their captains and deckhands take the divers’ and crew’s safety very seriously. I feel very comfortable and safe aboard. The captains choose their daily dive sites based on sea conditions, dive conditions, and the level of skills of the divers aboard that day. I’ve never been disappointed. They have just begun a Wednesday Hunting day, and the captains are taking us to a variety of excellent hunting spots where we find plentiful lobsters, and a variety of spearfishing opportunities. The crew is quick to remind you that the word Kyalami means “my home” in the Zulu language. It seems like a perfect fit for me because whenever I return to dive aboard Kyalami, I feel...

Had a great time diving with Kyalami in Jupiter. Even before we left the dock, our dive guide Spencer was pointing things out to us like this amazing spotted eagle ray swimming right by the boat! Can't wait to go back out with the amazing Kyalami crew
