I have come to this nail salon fairly regularly over the past 3 years. They recognize me as a repeat customer whenever I come and always ask me where I've been if it's been a while. About 2 weeks ago, I came in on a Monday morning with my then fiancé for the works as we were preparing to leave town the next day for our destination wedding. I had just seen them about 10 days before for a regular nail service (fill and pedi) and told them I would be back with my fiancé before we left. I showed them a photo of what I wanted and they told me that I would have to have the acrylic replaced in order to achieve that look (French ombré pink and white). I explained that another nail tech had just insisted that I gets new set at my last visit and we all know how painful it is to remove acrylic that's so fresh. That nail tech sat in earshot and did not acknowledge that he urged me to get a new set the week before even though I kept telling him I would rather wait until the appointment before my wedding to avoid the very issue that we were having. So they have dishonest and unprofessional practices designed to get as much money out of a customer per visit. He did that to make more money that day and then pretended he couldn't hear later. Anyway, I asked if we could achieve a similar look with polish or if they could recommend something based on the images I was showing them. I was no bridezilla at all. I was actually on cloud nine, very happy to be there with my fiancé for some pampering time before our trip. They were very dry and irritable, not at all interested in helping me. We finally settled on a simple design involving white polish and a little glitter polish over it. Like elementary simple. At that point, the nail tech (who has serviced me several times before) seemed to get angry and there was an exchange between her and other techs who were servicing us. Again, it was a Monday morning and not busy at all in there. This made me uncomfortable because I could tell that there was discussion about the nail design that we had just agreed on. I couldn't understand because they weren't speaking English but I knew it was about me (probably because they were both looking or gesturing toward me during this awkwardness). So I interjected and asked "is there a problem? Is this okay?" At that point they just stared back at me and then the nail tech continued her tirade in her native language. It was obvious that she did not want to service me. At that point, I told them never mind. I don't want anyone doing my wedding nail service who doesn't want to or with such negativity. I told them that I would pay for what they had done for both of us thus far and that we would be leaving. The young lady who rang up our charges was more fluent in English and apologized profusely. I asked if I had done or said something offensive, and she said no and explained that this nail tech had some sort of family situation going on that upset her. She only charged me for my fiancé service and she seemed genuinely embarrassed herself. The woman who is the owner or manager (always in charge when I'm there) sat there with her head down and did not intervene or try to pair me with another tech who maybe wasn't going through a personal situation. We left and went to Nail Accent at Cumberland Mall where we were treated with dignity and respect. We are a same sex couple and I do wonder if this is why they didn't want to service us since my fiancé had never been there with me before. I also wonder if they generally respect the dollars of the community they serve. I wouldn't raise those questions lightly. I wouldn't recommend this salon to any self respecting...
Read moreIf you cannot take off nails without soaking them for an hour then you don't know anything about nails. I sat for an hour only to sit for another hour to have wrinkled hands. Then I was told that if I did not want to soak for another hour then I could leave. I really wish these people would go back to their poor land. Mainly because you do not understand that the very people you are being rude to are the very ones who not only keep your little business open, but more importantly, MOST importantly, are the decendants of the people whose backs literally built this country so you & every other immigrant can better your poor pathetic lives. PAY HOMAGE TO AFRICAN AMERICANS! Our ancestors paid dues with free labor, their lives & much much more. So people like you need to both know & recognize that as a fact. There are 1 zillion nail salons or minute microwave nail shops in Atlanta. Your shop was not packed enough for an hour wait just to sit for another hour only to be told by your incompetent lazy staff that I could leave if I did not want to waste the rest of my day with you people. Please, just close up & leave this land as you have zero knowledge about nails, customer service, & way too much more to list. Terrible. Awful. Disgusting. Pathetic. Incompetent. Just...
Read moreaside from the décor this nail salon is by far the worst! the workers talk and laugh about their customers. they over charge for the basic services and treat the customers like they are really not welcomed in their establishment. when I asked the nail tech how did he like the area (predominantly black) I swear he said "we like it because we can laugh at work when the people come in. they don't take care of theyself," I don't think I will return to this salon. I read the other review but thought I'd still give it a chance because it's convenient, but I'd rather travel for respect than put up with their filthy attitudes. true story! Our money is our power. We spend "billions" of dollars annually in this country, yet we are treated the worst even by groups that are undocumented. Let your money speak for you. The next time you visit this shop, if you notice the poor customer service they extend to anyone seeking services; DO NOT RETURN to spend another of your hard earned dollars with them! If you see this behavior and you choose not to act, you are basically saying I work very hard to earn this dollar and now I'm going to pay you to insult me as long as I look good when you are finished. Certainly we care more about...
