I wanted to plan something different and special for New Year’s Eve this year and include as many of my family as I could. I have some family from Maine visiting, so it was important to do something for all ages. We are local to Tarpon Springs however, we have never been kayaking in the Bayou. I decided a kayaking trip to hopefully see some manatees would be a fantastic start to our New Year’s Eve celebrations. I had 10 people however when I went to book the trip, the 3 PM slot was not available. I called the company and they were super great to work with and since I had so many people they were able to find somebody to take us on the trip and booked us a special slot on New Year’s Eve. Our guide, Carmen, was very pleasant, helpful and had lots of information of the local area. Our group ranged in ages from 15 all the way up to 65, Carmen was great at helping everybody in their kayaks, safety first! We were so lucky, we had three or four manatees that were just playing around us and we also had a dolphin that swam right next to us! The weather was beautiful, the guide was fantastic, overall just a...
Read moreThe tranquil water provided an ideal setting for exploration and adventure. We could have not chose a better day for this adventure! The weather was perfect around 79°- 84° this morning from 8am! Paddling through the calm surface with my husband, I found myself mesmerized by the surrounding natural beauty. Very cool to paddle through the mangroves! We also saw different birds, the Osprey, the Roseate standing on one leg, the Blue Jays, the Great Heron, and many more. I was able to hold a cluster of oysters, a spiral swirl conch! With each stroke, a sense of accomplishment grew as I maneuvered the vessel. This newfound appreciation for outdoor activities will undoubtedly influence future leisure choices. The entire experience was undoubtedly a memorable and enjoyable introduction to kayaking! Thanks to our tour guides, Les, Alex, Cami! They are amazing and very knowledgeable!...
Read morewe were extremely disappointed because we had made a big detour to go kayaking with this company thanks to Google reviews, but it's really not deserved. my opinion is useful for others. we did the activity on January 20th. the guide, a young blonde girl, I didn't remember the name, took us slowly by kayak just 750 yards from the start for 15 minutes near Craig Park. we could have walked there...we waited over 30 minutes with nothing to do to watch the manatee. there were a few but passers-by could see them as well as we could from the shore. the guide gave us more explanations about her life and that of her brother than about the manatee ... then we returned to our starting point in 15 minutes and that's it. we did not see the mangrove at all. it is therefore very expensive for little interest and in any case not made for nature...
