Car-Free Vacation in Tampa—Part 2

We were here for the weekend doing a craft show and we always look for a great places to eat in every town we visit. We had lunch at a local popular restaurant yesterday and weren’t really impressed with the gyros. Today we decided to try The Limani based on reviews we read here. And the prices seemed fair. Between us, we had the chicken kebab plate, a Gyro pita, and a small Greek salad. The salads were very fresh and generous portions. The chicken kebab was well seasoned and the Greek fries were very good. The Gyro pita was huge! The meat was very tasty and fresh, as were the veggies and tzatziki sauce. The “small“ salad was also huge and fresh. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to eat here. We had take away, but there are tables outside on the riverfront. The only hitch I experienced was that they only take cash and I had a card. I went to the nearest ATM and by the time I got back my meal was ready!

Our favorite lunch place at the #spongedocks in #tarponsprings. The chicken pita is delicious albeit a bit messy 😉 And their Feta fries are perfectly crispy, drizzled with a light lemon sauce, then generously Sprinkled with Feta and Oregano; absolutely craving worthy. They also do Plain fries, Garlic fries and Greek fries as well as Beer Battered Onion Rings (need to try those sometime but how do I justify them and the Feta fries 😂) Everything is so fresh and made to order, very nice people and outdoor only seating with a nice view of the boats moored and the Anclote River. They do only take cash but there is a universal ATM by the ordering window if you forget. Afterwards go for a stroll or shopping along the Sponge Docks. Makes for a perfect afternoon especially this time of year💕

4/25/2023 - I love this town we found while here for a trip for a bachelorette party. A few of us got in a day early so we decided to explore this town. We wanted to get a snack because we were starving and found this cute place. The food was really good and had nice portions. We split 2 plate meals, chicken and pork kabob. The scenery is nice. It sits right next to the water. The only things that I didn't like was that you can only pay with cash and that the lady was upset we said to go but sat in the dining area. We weren't sure if we were going to eat everything and wanted it in to go boxes so we could leave after. Other than that really cute place with delicious foods.

This places is awesome. This is the best greek food I’ve had in all USA. I have been in this place several times. This could not be the most beautiful restaurant but their food and the atmosphere is the closest to greek that you will ever experience. Everything in the menu is prepared at the moment, food is super fresh, flavors are on point. We ordered a pork and chicken souvlaki kabobs plate, pita and tzatziki sauce and a Gyro pita. Everything was fresh and tasted excellent. I have tried almost everything on the menu and never felt disappointed. This is one of the examples I use to tell everybody that you don’t need to go to a fancy restaurant to eat really good food.

The food was delicious. The lady (brown hair and older) at the counter was rude and disrespectful to several people in line including us. It’s cash only. My husband didn’t have cash but I did, she yelled and said “read the sign”. The ATM outside their restaurant is broken. Then she gave me money back after I paid and I dropped the change in the tip bowl, went to reach into my purse for some ones. She said “that was disrespectful”. I said “what did you say”? She said “oh I was talking to someone else”. I said “well I heard what I heard and for that comment you won’t be getting anything else”. Her loss, my gain to yummy food. We won’t be back. Very rude Greek lady.
