I've personally, physically shopped in their little store every year for about 10 years up until this year. I didn't travel south this year for the holidays so I shopped with their store online. The online website is very generic. I placed a very big order well in advance to receive the items to give as Christmas gifts and when I checked out, there was NO options to expedite or find out when the items would arrive. So I emailed them thru their website, days passed and no response. So I tracked down their phone number and contacted them to find out what the deal was. The woman I spoke to was not the owner, just an employee. I'm not one to judge someone, but I do run a business myself and I would never in a million years hire some flighty woman who sounds like she toked out on a joint. She was disoriented, confused and repeated herself. I had to tell her my address 3x. I am hoping my stuff arrives to the right address now. :( I'm so disappointed. I really love the soap and the products, but the service and shipping is nuts. She totally screwed up my order to the point that my items won't even arrive in time to wrap as gifts. Then she calls me back after the fact to tell me that they don't have one of the items made or available to send to me and that it will cost $30+ to ship my items faster. Well, let's see here, your customer service sucks and if you don't have something available for sale in your store, don't list it for sale... then if you want to keep a loyal, returning customer, don't try to charge me more for shipping because you are lazy and too slow on getting the items packaged up and sent to me. NO thanks. Sadly, I will never shop with this company again. I'm very upset about this experience because I truly enjoyed the soap but there is no way I'll waste spending big money on stuff that can't even arrive at a decent time let alone get the stuff I originally wanted. Word of advice, if you are going to shop with them, do it in person...
Read moreMy family had a wonderful experience here tonight. We were looking forward to visiting for the great products but even more so because our 7 year old daughter dreams of becoming an artisan soap maker, so we were hoping someone would take the time to speak with her about the craft, and we were not disappointed.
The woman working there tonight was very kind and went out of her way to engage our daughter and answer her questions, explaining the basics of their process, and even inviting her to hold a large block of soap which would later be cut into maybe a dozen bars or more. The whole thing was a special experience for our daughter and whether she one day becomes a soap maker or not, the attention and time this kind stranger shared with her will have played some part in nurturing her interests and willingness to put herself out there.
This really meant a lot to us, and the experience will last a lot longer than the excellent artisinal products we bought. We were looking for an experience like this for our budding soap maker, but this really exceeded our hopes.
In the process we learned that the soaps are made on-site, and we will go out of our way to shop here when we visit the area, as well as placing online orders. We have bought soap here in the past and are already familiar enough with the exceptional quality of the products to recommend the store on that basis quality, but the service and attention tonight were above and...
Read moreI love supporting small businesses, especially during the pandemic. Unfortunately, GETAGURU will NOT be one of them.
My boyfriend and I recently visited Tarpon Springs and couldn't wait to go back to this shop as we've bought things here in the past and planned to spend a decent amount of money again. As we were carefully looking at packaged items in an open cabinet, we were rudely approached by the lady that regularly works behind the counter. She barked at us saying she would rather not have us go through them and to go to her if we wanted to see something specific (mind you, there was no sign saying this). Hard to tell if we want to see something specific when we are being told we can't even look through the products to begin with.
She came across as extremely disrespectful and made us uncomfortable to the point where we dropped the products in our hands that we were going to buy and walked out. This encounter left a terrible taste in our mouths and the store lost sales because of it.
To GETAGURU: Your products are nice and your shop is cute, but "Customer Service 101" is about treating your patrons with respect. Approaching and talking to paying customers with kindness will get you a lot further (especially during this...
