Anclote Brew — Restaurant in Tarpon Springs

We came here on a very rainy day over Memorial Day weekend.

I saw an ad for this place in a brochure and noticed that they had "gourmet grilled cheese," so that of course sucked me in!

We had our small dogs with us in their stroller, so we appreciated that they had covered outdoor pet friendly seating. It was fun to sit on the patio and people watch. My biggest gripe though, is that the outdoor area stunk from all the smokers.

The menu has something like ten grilled cheeses on it. Some choices include Plain Jane (basic), Pizza, Turkey Apple Cheddar, Caprese, Benedictine, Sweet Hot Swine, Pimento Delight, Cuban Style and Mediterranean Veggie.

The grilled cheese was tasty and had a generous amount of cheese. Our waiter was fairly attentive and good about checking back on us throughout the meal.

We each ordered a beer, but they also have items like Sangria, Margaritas, wine and more.

I don't know when we will be back up here again, but...

I am afraid that any word I can write in this review will be unable to express the sheer perfection of Anclote Brew and it’s main feature, the BBQ Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese. My Grandmother lives here and every. Single. Time. I’ve come to visit her since she moved to Tarpon I have went out of my way to come to this fine Brewery and get the BBQ Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese. And never, has this sandwhich or resturant ever disappointed me. There is not a worker that does not work hard, is not dedicated to their craft, or is not happy to be there. I love the staff, love the ambiance, love the experience. My Tarpon trip always begins and ends with a delicious trip to Anclote Brewery. Do yourself a favor and come enjoy...

It used to be good food and they took pride in it! Not anymore. Their grilled cheese, for instance, used to be a thick toasted bread with thick, multiple cheeses, now it’s microwaved bacon hardly no cheese on just some thin bread. It seems like cooking food here is a burden and nobody takes pride in it anymore. The bartender has been there a long time and when we asked about if they had a good light beer, she looked at us like we were crazy and said you’ll have to look up there on the board.
