This salon experience was over a year ago (July 2018) but because I am still dealing with the fall-out from the damage that Karinna did to my hair that day, I felt that I could no longer keep silent.

On July 7, I had an appointment with Karinna at the Duluth location to lighten my hair from a light brown to blonde. Karinna did a full foil in order to achieve this. However, the foils were left on my hair too long, causing it to be damaged. Thinking back, I had some of the foils on my hair for approximately two hours! She also cut off significantly more length that I had requested. I didn’t realize how horrifically damaged my hair was on the day I got my hair done because Karinna curled my hair and sprayed it with a lot of hairspray, so I thought the dryness I was feeling was due to the hairspray. However, after washing it, I realized this was not the case. I attempted to contact Karinna via her work Facebook page where we had previously communicated approximately one week after my appointment. I mentioned that my hair felt extremely dry and damaged and was looking for advice. I did not receive a reply.

Several weeks passed, and in addition to the extreme damage done to my hair (the back in particular felt crunchy and straw-like), I also began to feel very unhappy with my cut and color. The cut seemed very choppy and not at all blended. The color was very brassy and patchy, with the longest of the layers, a strip in the back, and the ends in the front all being a very harsh bleached blonde, which I specifically stated I did not want.

While I had prebooked an appointment with Karinna, I decided that I no longer feel comfortable with her doing my hair. She had done an amazing job previously, but the mistakes made on my hair (bad cut, bad color, and severe bleach damage) have caused me to move my business elsewhere. I spent over $300 at the salon that day and left with essentially destroyed hair. I also spent hundreds in home hair care products (Olaplex and hair conditioning masks) in an attempt to make my hair somewhat presentable.

A month later I had my hair fixed at another salon. Every stylist there was horrified that a fellow professional had done such a bad job with my hair. Thankfully the new stylist was able to fix the color and cut, although I had to lose significant length in order to do so and I still have many inches of damaged hair to grow out.

I know Karinna is capable of amazing cuts and color because she had previously done amazing things with my hair. But this last experience was horrible. It has been over a year since this damage, and I'm still growing my hair out and working on cutting off the damaged hair. It will be probably be another year before my hair recovers from the bleach damage, not to mention I wasted $300+ in the process.

While I never received a response or apology from Karinna, I did from the salon owner. He was extremely apologetic and agreed that my hair was in really bad shape. Thankfully he refunded my salon costs. The refunded money doesn't change the fact that my previously healthy hair was essentially...

When you move from one place to another, leaving behind the familiar rapport with a former barber is always difficult. The fact that I moved from Detroit to Atlanta meant that I would have to find a barber and one who will be able to accommodate my desired hair cut.

I've been to maybe three or four different ones that those specifically geared as barber shops all failed. They couldn't straighten out the mess of previous barbers. Others thought they knew what I wanted but failed to deliver. Some couldn't even speak English enough to be able to communicate my wants!!!

Then I find Just b. I was skeptical but the only to find out if the person was good enough was to go and let them cut my hair. So I wait it out till my hair grew out. I schedule an appointment with Briggs who on the salon's very website could do the cut I was aiming for.

I found his very clear cut communication to be comforting as he displayed a sense of meticulous obsession to cut my hair to the way I wanted. I even showed him a basic look of what I was going for and he delivered. There was a bent towards and excellence only seen from my barber in Detroit.

Needless to say, the very fact that the people in Just b Salon all had their own style and expression yet held to a very professional demeanor about themselves and it showed in the way Briggs cut hair which is a fantastic reflection of Just b Hair Salon.

Highly recommend this place for sure if you need a haircut and are in the...

I recently had the most incredible haircut experience with Ansley. As a woman with curly hair who had been hesitant to get a haircut for the past four years, I had struggled to find a stylist who truly understood and appreciated the unique beauty of my curls. However, Ansley proved to be an absolute gem!

Ansley's warm and welcoming energy made me feel instantly at ease. Her genuine passion for curly hair was evident as she educated me on various tips and techniques to manage and maintain my curls. Her tips were invaluable to me and have given me newfound confidence in my everyday hair care routine.

If you're a fellow curly-haired queen seeking a stylist who understands and appreciates the unique beauty of your curls, I wholeheartedly recommend Ansley. Her talent, knowledge, warm energy, and dedication to making you feel amazing will undoubtedly result in a haircut experience that leaves you feeling beautiful, confident,...

Ansley has been my trusted stylist for over a year now, and she keeps my hair looking incredible. From lifechanging product recommendations to tips for keeping my hair fresh between visits, she has taught me so much. Plus, she was willing to embark on the daring journey of split-dying and has made maintaining this mane SO much easier than I thought possible. The salon itself is in a really great spot! The staff seem to have a great rapport with each other.

Skyler is everything you could ever wish for in a hair stylist. Efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and so helpful in all aspects. I go in with so many “I don’t know’s” and leave beyond satisfied every single time. She fills in the gaps and makes suggestions that are always spot on. At this point, I just walk in and say, “I trust you, let’s go!” 😂 Run, don’t walk, to make an appointment with her! She is the best of the best!
