M&M Philippine Mart Oriental Grocery — Attraction in Winter Park

I was very happy to find a Filipino market place where I could potentially share some authentic foods with my husband but when I went there today I was treated with a special level of rudeness. I had been there once before and the interactions with the employees was fine, but today it was a different person that really turned me off, and has made me not want to ever go back again. I will be fair and say that the Halo Halo is pretty good, and there are a decent number of groceries that you can get there but I cannot go shop at a place where I get treated like this. Perhaps if one day they get people who treat you better but for now I would truly avoid the place. I was simply asking simple questions and they were responded to with pure rudeness. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this store. My family and I made a 1.5-hour trip to purchase several items, including coconut jam, peanut butter, vanilla drops, food flavoring, etc.. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize until we got home that all of these items were nearly expired, with less than a week left on their shelf life. This is completely unacceptable, especially for a store that is so far from us. It feels like we’ve wasted both our time and money on products that will go bad almost immediately. The store should be more transparent about the expiration dates or, at the very least, inform customers when items are so close to expiration. This place had exactly what I was looking for (an entire section of Polvoron, and frozen Ensaymada), and the Halo Halo was delicious. I have never had Ube Macapuno ice cream (had only Ube ice cream in the past), and it was fantastic. I'm generally a no frills person and don't need people to greet me or anything like that in places like this (no one greets me in Publix, and I usually use the self checkout, so the experiences are the same to me).
