Majestic Dominican Salon — Attraction in Hillcrest Heights

I'm uncertain about the exact color brand that was applied to my hair, but I noticed quite a bit of dye residue on my face and skin from Sunday. The stylist returned with a color brush and began using a new product that caused a slight tingling sensation. I needed to gather my thoughts because there’s now a bald spot in the middle of my hair. I'm at a complete loss, as I've had experiences at Dominican salons before without any problems.

I will stop by to collect a list of the products used. I have never experienced any allergic reactions before, nor have I had any hair issues that would lead to baldness. When the stylist took pictures without asking for my consent that should have been my first red flag. It was only after she had already done several photo that I inquired about what she was doing, and she showed me photos of her pin curls. I should have realized something was off when I didn’t receive the requested middle part and she returned for more product. I am glad the situation is not typical for your salon!

I went here on June 20th for a wash and blowout. I have 4C hair (African American), and I can confidently say they do not know how to handle 4C hair. My hair is now damaged severely. The stylist used an excessive amount of heat, to the point where the smoke alarm actually went off. My ends are fried, and she blow-dried my hair so roughly it felt like she had no idea what she was doing.

I even asked her to section my hair and use less heat, but she brushed me off and said my hair was “too rough.” I’ve spent years growing my hair out, and now I’m going to have to cut off at least 3 inches. I’m honestly heartbroken and angry.

And to make matters worse, they tried to overcharge me just because of my “thick hair.” If you have 4C hair or thick hair in general do not go here. They only seem to know how to work with mixed or softer hair textures. I’m beyond...
