I’ve been to Modern Nail Bar a few times, but after my most recent visit, I won’t be going back. I got a gel manicure and pedicure that cost $80, and the gel started peeling off the very next day. When I called to let them know, they told me to come back in to get it fixed.
However, when I arrived, I was treated like a burden. Kim and the staff made it clear I was an inconvenience, even though I was just asking them to fix a service I had paid for. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and unprofessional — they had me moving around from chair to chair, no one was really helping me, and no one even tried to locate the color I had originally chosen. I was told to find it myself from their disorganized selection. A business that refuses to take accountability for their work speaks volumes about how little they care about their customers.
I had booked my original appointment online and chose Kim’s name without knowing anything about her. When I arrived, she made a point to let me know she “doesn’t do pedicures”. On previous visits, I was seen by someone I believe was named Thinh. She is rough with nails and cuts...
Read more!!!JUST BEWARE OF PRICES!!! I came here with my mother for a special Mother’s Day treat to get gel pedicures. The staff was nice, and they showed us a menu with different pedicure options. We both chose the Pomegranate Martini Pedicure, which was listed as $65 each. I also asked for chrome, which I’ve always been charged $2–$5 for at other salons.
To my surprise, when it came time to pay, I was told the total was $200 — $100 each — and they said that didn’t include the tip. The receipt was also confusing: it didn’t mention pedicure at all, but instead listed “upgrade manicure” twice for $100 each. I felt misled, especially since I was never told that the chrome or anything else would bring the total so high. Based on what I agreed to, I was expecting something closer to $150, not $200.
It’s disappointing to have a relaxing day turn stressful because of unclear pricing and a receipt that doesn’t even reflect what we got. I won’t be returning, and I hope this review helps others ask for full breakdowns before agreeing...
Read moreSo let’s start from the beginning. The appointment was scheduled for two people that were going to get a design. I specifically Made it clear that both of us needed to get designs. When we arrive for the appointment I’m told that only one person there can do designs so the other person won’t be able to get anything. The nail tech that did my nails that day, on my birthday I my dad. Cut four my fingers and left one of them infected. I did not pay for that service and all that was done with the acrylic was applied over my real nails. I came back a few days later and had Annie do my nails. She did a great job. 10 days later one of my nails breaks (14 day gaurentee) and when I contact them to come back in and fix it I got told that only Annie can do it and she’s booked for days. I also get told there’s only two people who work there who do acrylic nails. Then I get told that it was my fault for not liking the way that the first nail tech had done my nails that I can go somewhere else to...
