Wow. What a beautiful park.
As a child living in Brunswick, we visited St. Simons Island many times and picnicked in this park and skated at the old roller skating rink that was upstairs.
The roller skating rink is gone now but what they have done to this park is astounding. The brick pavers, grilling station and walkways are just gorgeous.
We visited for two nights and each morning we saw groups of people picking up trash and going on their walks. You can tell everyone is invested in this area and love it. We heard people calling out greetings by name when they saw others so we know it is frequented each morning. No wonder either. With the pier and lighthouse, it's a great place to see dolphins while waiting on the sunrise. Super nice children's playground.
There are many great restaurants within walking distance to this area and a few hotels a block away. Safe at night and early morning...

It was pretty clean and so nice to be able to see the beach. Very affordable for all of us. We've got the military discount and paid $18 total including $2 toddler swimming diaper. Yes, I completely forgot to get it but at the door the worker asked if we have the 1 year old's swimming diaper and that's how he saved us!!! It is small swimming pool but perfect for the families with little ones so you can see the big kid at the next pool area from the small kids pool area. The life guards where everywhere. They switch to a new guards quite often so that they won't be tired from the sun cus it could cause for them to miss if someone is drowning. I was very comfortable there. It has 3 showers in the both of the restrooms. We'll...

Short walk to the pier with fishermen and herons, seagulls, pelicans, cormorants, and other birds. A few pelicans and a heron are fed fish by someone which gives good photograph opportunities. Don't get too close, they are wild birds, but a nice photographic opportunity. Can get crowded, but a nice overall park. Across the street is the Welcone Center with information and maps. Very nice lady there with helpful information and places to see. Restrooms are near the park, across the street from the Welcome Center. Parking for the park and the Welcone Center is...
