Savannah Bee Company — Local services in Saint Simons

It is a kick start summer tradition for us to come to St. Simons every year but we never noticed this shop until today. What caught my husband’s attention was the mead tasting sign. First impression of the shop was so clean and adorable. Second impression is the listed ingredients on their products. I have a autoimmune disease that I been using real raw honey to help suppress it so when I looked at the labels I was very excited. Anyway, back to the mead tasting. We got a list and chose the first level of mead tasting experience and we were both blown away. Every mead we tried had their own unique tastes that were so good it became hard for us to choose. Besides that the girl, who worked behind the counter on 05/26 in the afternoon, was so enjoyable! She walked us through each one and pointed out her favorite which easily became mine. We ended up with couple of bottles and cans. We’re sad we don’t live closer so we can have a easier access to the products but glad to see there is an online store we can order from. Couldn't give them 1 star because the girls working were great! My husband and i shared a tasting and the meads were good. The girls did a good job of describing the different meads to us. My son got a popsicle and we ended up getting a bottle of mead. The reason I'm giving such a low rating is because of the manager. After paying for everything (just under $80), with Savanah Bee Company bag in hand, the manager chased us (with our 2 small children) out the store to make sure we paid for everything.
